It has to be said that CofE processes are just laughable when compared with the efficiency of the RC church and the election of the new pope. Lord Evans must have done something wrong to be holding this particular baby!

Sorry, behind a pay wall but this bit in the obit of Ray Lewis is terrific! "In 1990, at the age of 27, he became a clerk in holy orders for the Church Commissioners". Presumably that might read: In 1990, at the age of 27, he was ordained?!

I hate doing shoe cleaning. Forced to do it weekly at school @StPaulsCathSch. There is even a photo of me doing so in the Radio Times in 1978... In connection with broadcast of "Paul's Children". Didn't have this gizmo to help then! @RadioTimes @StPaulsLondon

Parents bought their house in 1972 & have insured through @lv since then. Last year's premium £520. Renewal will be £839 (£905 when I mentioned that the joint policy holder had died, although your rep kindly offered to keep at £839). Still double loads of competitor quotes!
