I'd like to see a noir film where the private eye is an ID doctor that quit medicine from burnout and is now solving crimes with their impeccable attention to detail.
Success stories in medicine: my clinic nurse said no I needed to call a patient's pharmacy regarding a prescription denial. I got a hot coffee, sat down, waited patiently on hold, and then was told to call their insurance plan...
I call this group, survive the automated prompts but unfortunately my request is not an "authorization review." I need an "appeal of denial." For appeals I need to call... the patient's insurance plan.
The reviewer apologizes about the confusion and tells me as a word of advice -- it would be better to try again on Monday because it's almost 5 pm and I'm unlikely to reach a denial review person. I realize I have been on the phone for almost 2 hours. My coffee is cold.
First weekend after being on service for 7-weeks and I went to run errands this morning. While at CVS I added a 6-pack of beer to my cart as an impulse buy. While fumbling for my ID, the cashier looked at me and said "you're good bro." I don't know whether I should be offended.
