Hi friends. The pup & I miss you greatly. We haven't been present here for a good while. The linked article eloquently illustrates why. I don't wish navigate such course as Twitter is taking. I still hope things will change. Warm wishes to you. D&G πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š bbc.co.uk/news/technology-64…

Hiatus Twitter is my only social media. Lately, I've noticed activity that concerns me. I make no judgement as to its management, but we've decided the pup & I will take a hiatus until things stabilise. Please retain your links with us.πŸ™ This, I hope, is but temporary. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

The Kyle of Sutherland Home again & back from the big city (met some great people), & glad to be reunited with Gill. A mighty interesting few days but this is more my natural habitat. Wildlife aplenty, great views, hills & forests. Wishing you a good weekend ahead. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

Assynt & Coigach Whilst not always the highest, the hills of Assynt & Coigach hold a special place in my heart as they do for so many. Do you recognise these? The pup & I relish winter in these parts. Meanwhile, I’m off to Glasgow for a few meetings. Have a great week. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

"Boys, it's time to get the band back together!" ~with apologies to The Blues Brothers, the red deer rut has ended. The stags are regrouping. The full ("beaver") moon heralds the influx of seasonal woodcock to the Alder carr & Birch scrub. A grand season to enjoy outdoors. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

Luskentyre, Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides Good morning all. If you have any cobwebs left over from Samhain or All Hallow's Eve, this wee clip of the magnificent sands looking from Seilebost to Luskentyre may blow them away. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

Inchnadamph This beautiful church & burial ground stands at the head of Loch Assynt where the River Ionian feeds the loch. Wonderful dynamic Autumn light, spotlights the ruins of Ardvreck with the southern tip of the Quinag massif behind. A good weekend to all. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

Autumn Leaves youtube.com/watch?v=n2s2tPOR… One from Perthshire. I didn't manage to get there last week but thanks to all kind messages. My back is improving thanks. This is one of my favourite autumn images. I can hear the melody of the tumbling burn. Have a great week ahead. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

Autumnal portent The light is closing in such that Gill and my evening walks these days are often in the chilly dusk. Occasionally however, we're rewarded by a wonderful clarity of silhouette against the remnant sky of a sun that has set. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

"Far from the Madding Crowd" (with apols TH) Here's a wee secret. When the busy season comes & the pup & I want a peaceful outing, we often go wandering about beautiful Strathnaver. The quiet hinterland road from Lairg to Bettyhill holds much history & walking delights.. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

Covesea Skerries Lighthouse; three ways. These days this Stevenson lighthouse (1830) is better known as Tarbat Ness Lighthouse, by Portmahomack. Built at a cost of Β£9,361 by J Smith (Inverness). There is a lovely walk to be had around the peninsula walkhighlands.co.uk/ullapool… πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ˜Š
