I can now confirm that this Kastar LP-E6P Battery works with the Canon R5 Mark ii. Not only does it power the camera as it should but the battery info menu displays it just like an OEM Canon battery.

I can also confirm that the Kastar LP-E6P Battery allows the Canon R5 Mark ii to use all of the 4k/8k video resolutions and frame rates, as well as high speed continuous shooting and pre-capture with stills. More testing is needed to determine overall battery duration.

The Kastar LP-E6P Batteries are $19.99 for 1 and 34.99 for a 2 pack. Prices don't get much better than that. I expect battery life on the Canon batteries to still be superior. If battery life and battery longevity is your priority the Canon Battery will likely be your best bet.
