It’s official - @TDCJ has accepted 540 copies of @DaddysTimeout as a gift for kids who are visiting their fathers in prison over Christmas!
Huge thanks to Baxter Underwood, Keith Thode, and my publisher Joan Richardson for making this possible! 🦁 ❤️ 📖

Here’s another example of how @NDDOCR is leading the country’s movement to support children of the incarcerated.
We are honored that ND DOCR was our first correctional systems partner for #DaddysTimeOut. Please join us in thanking them for their commitment to these kids!
Today is Children of Incarcerated Parents Day in ND. The DOCR has a group of dedicated individuals who work hard to ensure there is support for these children. We want to use this day as a reminder for North Dakotans to help reduce risk factors for both children and parents.
How do you teach kids to #FightHunger?
And can you do so while bolstering the #equity of those who are hungry?
I partnered with @ntfb to answer these questions in #HungerBugsMe, my new children's book!

Enjoying some health food at @snuffersburgers with one of the first believers in @DaddysTimeout — here’s to cheese fries, fried mushrooms, and a better ending to 2.7 million children’s stories!
How cool is this!!!!
“Our department is fully committed to supporting our residents in their roles as parents. We are excited to partner with Jeremy to share @DaddysTimeout with the children who visit our facilities.” Dave Krabbenhoft, Director of the North Dakota DOCR.
This is one of the many reasons we are proud to announce that we are partnering with the North Dakota Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation to provide hundreds of copies of #DaddysTimeOut to children visiting their fathers in #prison!
In North Dakota, Native and Black people are 4x more likely to be on parole, probation, or in prison than white people. It doesn't have to be this way. A restorative approach focused on healing, safety, & support can better meet the needs of the community.

A few books are now en route to leaders in North Dakota prisons... once they review them, we hope to get #DaddysTimeOut into visitation rooms for fathers to read to their children (who can then take them home)!
#DaddysTimeOut has now been printed! Deliveries to our 139 backers are now underway, and the book will soon be available for sale on Amazon and at DaddysTimeOut.com!
We made our goal!!!! #DaddysTimeOut is going to happen, thanks to the amazing @kickstarter community!
We will now be able to finish the book, publish it, and donate 1,000 copies to our nonprofit partners such as @PEPtweets and @BBBSA’s Amachi program!

Great article by @TracyXTullis on the challenges facing these children, and resources for them.

#DaddysTimeOut was inspired by visits to @PEPtweets.
We are grateful to PEP for reconnecting thousands of children with their incarcerated fathers!
If we can hit our goal, we will be donating books to children attending the PEP graduation!

Our @Kickstarter is approved!
Please back us so we can donate 1,000 copies of #DaddysTimeOut to children whose fathers are in prison. These kids are 6X more likely to go to prison themselves...
But you can give them a better ending to their story!
