VIDEO: The Uganda Law Society (ULS) has urged the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and the Ministry of Water and Environment to demarcate wetlands across the country, arguing that evictions alone will not stop encroachment on gazetted wetland areas.
Speaking during a visit to Buggu Village in Busabala, Makindye-Ssabagabo Municipality, Wakiso District, where more than 50 houses were recently demolished, ULS Treasurer Arthur Isiko on Saturday said the society was exploring ways to help affected residents seek legal redress.
