New York Update: S9215A / A10701A
Good news for New York airgun owners and the broader airgun community: the proposed New York legislation targeting air rifles, pellet guns, and BB guns did not advance before the end of the regular legislative session.
These bills would have expanded New York’s “imitation weapon” language to include air rifles, pellet guns, and BB guns, while also adding new restrictions affecting sales, markings, and industry members.
Because the bills did not move forward this session, they appear to be done for this year.
To everyone who took the time to send messages, contact lawmakers, share the alert, and help spread awareness: thank you. Grassroots involvement matters, and this is exactly why staying organized is so important.
That said, this issue is not gone forever. Similar language could return in a future session, so ASA will continue to monitor New York and other states closely.
Please stay connected, stay engaged, and keep an eye on updates from the Airgun Sporting Association.
Thank you to everyone who made their voice heard.
