The term NPC is just a new way of dehumanizing anyone. No person is an NPC. Stop saying that. It's gross.

#coffeeindustry You think youโ€™re in: - #hospitality - #roasting - #craft Youโ€™re actually in: - logistics - labor arbitrage - real estate utilization - subscription retention - brand differentiation

I haven't been watching the news. I just look at the gas prices to see how the war is going. It's down 50 cents from last week so that might be good.

Have you ever wondered what gofer (ื ืคื“) wood is in Genesis 6 v14? In that same verse God tells Noah to cover(ื›ืคื“) the Ark in pitch (liquid cover so ื›ืคื“ again) this word cover is often translated atone. There is a lot more to it I'm sure but in its simplest form the Ark is poetically atoned for three times in one verse. So now I don't really care whether gofer wood is cypress or some other wood. I care what it represents. And it seems to represent God covering us in His grace. Evil is all around us and a flood or even a harvest of our labor is coming. Yet God has provided a way through. He will lift us up. Covered in the blood of Jesus. All we have to do is call on Him and worship Him. He is our King and our God. #Kingdom #help #grace

I'm really into names, etymology. After listening to the last @blurrycreatures episode I looked into Chad Hayes name, wondering if Hayes was a Hebrew word or not. It isn't, but this is his brothers name and his name: Chad Hayes: Warrior of the hedge. Protector at the boundary. Carey Hayes: Watcher of the fort. Descendant of dusk. Hayes is the idea of a boundary keeper. Literally a hedge. Chad is easy warrior. Carey is more complicated, seems like some kind of son of darkness or a fort by a river. But they are pretty cool given their movie genre, imo.

Working on this while listening to @blurrycreatures ep #327 Feeling very inspired. Beauty will save the world. We need to create beautiful spaces for healing and getting to know the one true God. It was a great episode. I highly recommend! Thanks @swordandpencil for killing it!

Remember when the last administration hired 80000 IRS agents to look into the American peoples income and spending? I was upset about that. Elon looking into government spending? I'm not upset about that.

So @SenWarren is fear mongering and seeming to try to manipulate people into thinking Elon is doing things he is not. They need to fear monger, scare you and get you wrapped up in your emotions to manipulate you into doing what they want. This video is gross.

Sounds about right.
FEMA seems to be very confused about why so many #WNC business owners are closing up shop forever. Let me explain: a) You own a coffee shop along a small creek in Black Mountain NC, it's a local favorite. b) Helene causes the creek to rise 21 feet and it washes away all your equipment and your building caves in. c) You call insurance, they deny you. You didn't have flood insurance because you live 2,300ft above sea level. d) You submit a claim to FEMA. You are instantly rejected and told call the Small Business Administration. e) You call the Small Business Administration, they say, "hey sorry, we ran out of money October 3rd, maybe FEMA can help?" f) You call FEMA back and they don't answer the phone for 11 days. g) Finally you email your contact at FEMA telling them what the SBA told you. h) FEMA says, "Sorry wish we could help you, but we don't handle business stuff!" i) You say, "Ok, but my business is gone, my house is in ruins, I've got 3 kids to provide for... what do I do?" j) FEMA goes, "Wait a minute, I'm seeing here that your business is in a floodplain... tell you what, we can't help you rebuild your business, but we will buy it from you." k) You stare at your phone stunned, "Wait, you have enough money to BUY my business but you won't help me rebuild it?" l) FEMA goes, "Yes, that's correct. We will buy from it, but we will not help you rebuild it." m) You say, "That's insane though, if you have the money to buy it, why won't you help me rebuild it?" n) FEMA goes, "Those are the rules, sorry. If you want a loan to rebuild call the SBA, but it sounds like they are out of money." That's why business owners are pissed at FEMA.
