It is frankly embarrassing that a sitting U.S. Vice President is unaware of one of the most elementary facts of World War II. Nazi Germany did not negotiate an end to World War II. The war in Europe ended with Germanyโs unconditional surrender after total military defeat and the collapse of the regime in May 1945.
The media literally spent the last few weeks relentlessly attacking Platner. They barely report anything negative about Susan Collins. The fact that heโs still ahead after everything thatโs been thrown at him shows that heโs a strong candidate.
The media is obsessed with this race.
That obsession doesn't seem to extend to healthcare or housing or any of the life-or-death issues at stake in November.
Trillionaires shouldn't exist and neither should billioniares. Tax every penny in net worth over $999 million at 100%. We can have extreme wealth concentration or a democracy but we can't have both at the same time. Pick one.
At a time when billionaires and corporate interests wield enormous power over our economy and political system, Congress needs leaders who will stand with working people and take on the oligarchy. Join me and @ZohranKMamdani for a get out the vote rally in Brooklyn on Thursday.
Early voting starts today! NYC, head to the polls to elect:
๐ NY-07: @claireforny โจ๐ NY-10: @bradlander โจ๐ NY-13: @DarializaforNY โจ๐ NY-14: @AOC
