Physician. Transplant Hepatologist. Professor of Medicine and Surgery. Northwestern University. Married. Two kids. Eight grandkids for now. Peloton and tennis.
Monday we had the first Fontan Liver clinic at the Digestive Health Center. Thank you everyone who helped and hopefully will grow fast. As usual challenging cases. One young patient with HCC will initiate the journey towards a heart liver transplant🙏
Enjoying the final? The two teenagers are playing high quality tennis without butterflies. Before the end, both are absolute winners. Shame that only one takes the big trophy.
Today 45 years ago , this guy passed his last medical school exam. Well, still going… thanks to my wife, parents, many mentors, colleagues and nurses that allowed this to happen. And thanks to my patients for the confidence.
The Northwestern Medicine and Transplant teams lost a dear member today who fought a long battle against ALS. By transplanting hundreds of livers and kidneys he helped numerous lives. Professor Jon Fryer, rest in peace. Your colleagues and many families will miss you.
Signed up to be at the #LiverMeeting#AASLD in Annaheim this November. The Frailty Team and ALFSG successfully had abstracts accepted that included me as co author. Thanks.
We are in trouble when politicians try to self promote themselves and align by killing people with their antimask and antivax comments. In normal times, they would be judged as murderers.
I am angry at the French Open and tennis officials in their attitude with Osaka.
No respect for personal issues and mental health. Full support to Osaka. She is respectful and a class act in tennis. Enough of the grunting divas that were poor sports and were never punished.
#JohnOliver your Sunday piece just shows me that you now joined the uninformed antisemites against Israel. Palestinians are being murdered by their own ( Hamas, Iran). They do not want peace just to get rid of Israel and the Jews. You should have read history . Pathetic.
May be too much anxiety was raised based on just a study of antibody testing to solid organ recipients who received fully Covid vaccination. We have not seen yet admissions of post liver transplant vaccinated patients with severe Covid, but will keep advising caution.
