Bluesky is popping off right now with everyone looking for people to follow! It's a good time to get your account set up there. I'm danielhep.me there

Like clockwork, commentators interpret elections as ideological mandates. Trump wins, so voters hate progressives and want conservatism. Here's why that's wrong. 1) It doesn't help explain why parties *of all ideologies* lost vote share post-COVID.

Really appreciated reading this. Need some optimism to not get completely lost in the dark doomerism.
Forgive the soapboxing. My only personal thoughts on what’s next. No prescriptions, no blame. Not qualified for that. Just my loose prior for what comes, as someone who thought Trump had a very good shot of getting back into office with a trifecta.

Also King County Metro should probably entirely abandon its fleet electrification plans.

I always mean to post my BeReal on the G Line but then I get too excited about being on the G Line and I forget.

why don't we just do "fall back" every day so that we can have an extra hour of sleep every night?

King County Metro please train your drivers to operate the G Line coaches. Mine just had to manually flip the ramp out because he only knew the controls for the automatic wheelchair securement system, which is now beeping and flashing non stop.

The bus signals at 6th and Madison and at 6th and Spring are honestly excruciating. These signals are causing so much of the G Line bunching because buses have to wait several minutes to get a green. @seattledot @greg

How many damn times does Daniel have to do the job that @SoundTransit should be doing. It’s so ridiculous. There needs to a rapidly deployable emergency response team like there would be for cars on the road if something happens on the 520 bridge. Come the heck on.
I went up and down the platform at Roosevelt letting people know that all trains are on the SB track because several people just missed NB trains since they didn't know it was on the other side. @SoundTransit do better

I'm also posting about transit stuff on Bluesky! I'm danielhep.me over there. I find the interface very nice and much faster than Twitter.

Lots of very confused people waiting on the NB side at U District who kept looking back and forth between our Lynnwood bound train and the platform signs. I can't help everyone, @SoundTransit needs to be doing it. They have to wait 30 mins for the next train now.

Capitol Hill and UW stations have an announcement going off repeatedly about evacuating the station.

The security guard saw me doing that and must have felt embarrassed because I saw him also mention it to someone. Why is there not someone shouting "THE TRAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE IS TO LYNNWOOD" at all the people staring at their phones on the NB side?

Sound Transit doesn't have any information about single tracking at Roosevelt and a bunch of people just missed their train because it was on the wrong track and they were confused. Operator not giving any info to passengers either. @SoundTransit
