There is no war zone in Portland, Oregon, and the American military should not deploy to American cities unless another country were attacking us. Calling an American city a war zone should alarm everyone.

It's galling: News pieces constantly treat the fact that Trump will cancel prosecutions of himself if he wins as just another facet of his strategy of delay. It should be treated as a serious threat to the rule of law, not a way that Trump might "win."
