There are four matches on today, so the plan is to watch football while tackling a long-overdue round of cleaning. The Morocco vs. Brazil match this afternoon was so entertaining that the vacuum cleaner ended up running in the same spot for about five minutes before anyone noticed. Apparently cows sometimes freeze while grazing so they can listen for sounds around them. Felt a bit like a cow this afternoon, haha.🐮 Looks like rain later tonight. A little cooler weather would be nice too.

The city gets surprisingly crowded on match days. Traffic was moving so slowly that a whole recorded show finished before the drive did. Which, now that I think about it, sounds like something an old man would say, haha. A friend recommended an anime today, and tonight seemed like a good time to start it. Somehow the PlayStation opened first. No hurry. Tomorrow is fine too. Though tomorrow already feels rather full. There are two matches worth watching, which probably means spending a little longer at the gym beforehand.šŸœ

Watching matches at a restaurant is dangerous. 🄶By the end of the night, the receipt was almost arm-length. At this rate, the World Cup will end with one extra football in circulation, haha. Oh, and the hair-down look was really pretty.

The World Cup starts tomorrow. Quite a few matches are kicking off around noon, so lunch breaks at the office might get a little noisy. Football has a way of turning people into strange NPCs who suddenly stop hearing anything around them, haha. For the evening matches, a restaurant near home sounds like a good idea. A few tacos, a lemon soda, maybe some cake, maybe some chips… At this rate, more thought is going into the snacks than the match itself, haha. Sometimes, good days might be a little like a menu. Hope there’s always something else to look forward to.

While studying in Madrid, I spent part of a holiday in a small French city called BesanƧon. Today, a patch of sunlight moving through the leaves along a quiet path on campus suddenly reminded me of it. Unlike the city I live in now, even the downtown streets there felt peaceful, as if the whole place existed inside a film scene. Haha, that probably has nothing to do with anything. Still, if I were an old general retiring after a long career of heroic victories, I think I’d choose a place like that. Somewhere small enough that people walking by might casually say, ā€œAh, that’s General Edmund’s house.ā€

Didn’t notice a pimple while shaving this morning and managed to nick my face. The funny part was probably me holding my cheek afterward like one of those little game characters that walks straight into a wall and has to stop for a second. On the bright side, I ended up eating lunch with unusually elegant manners today, haha. Hopefully there are some random little moments to smile about today as well. The shaving accident, maybe not.šŸŒ™

Spent the afternoon with the book club, sharing favorite books and eventually drifting into a conversation about film adaptations. Despite all our different opinions, everyone seemed to agree on one thing: the original books were always better. There was one exception in my mind, though. But I stayed quiet and let the moment belong to everyone else, haha. Some thoughts are a bit like the books waiting by the bedside each night, small treasures that feel better kept close.

Picked up a Switch 2 today as a small reward. Received a new award at work recently, which was both unexpected and encouraging, haha. It’s still sitting in the box after making it all the way home, though. Duskbloods isn’t out yet, after all. Instead, I ended up watching the trailer a few more times. At first, it was just curiosity, but somewhere along the way, I realized I’d started looking forward to it. Maybe waiting is part of the fun too.

Boss themes have always fascinated me. For a long time, I thought Laurence was just a scholar consumed by his vision of evolution. But every time that variation begins to play, I find myself thinking: He wasn’t a bad man. Perhaps that’s because I’m a little idealistic myself. I know it can look naĆÆve sometimes, haha. Still, I use pens. I write things down. And somehow, that’s me too.

Borrowing only the first line from Ludwig tonight.

At first, it was always the stories of the full moon that captivated me. Later, I discovered that the crescent moon, the half moon, and the new moon each carried a beauty of their own. And somewhere along the way, I realized something stranger still. I had come to love the part that turned away from me, too. Let the clouds carry these words away. May today be bright and sunlit, and that be enough.

When I was little, I’d always find ways to sneak a little extra food. Somehow, a full stomach made the world feel safer, haha. Perhaps some habits never really leave. Ate well today too. Nothing remarkable happened, but that’s alright. It was still a good day.šŸŒ¤ļø

Sometimes I wonder what role I’d play in a game world. Not the one who links the fire, ascends, or claims a throne. Somehow, I’ve always found myself standing quietly beyond the door. Hmmā€¦šŸŒ»

Passed by Popeyes today. Their fried chicken still gets me every time, even after a morning at the gym. Maybe a little smile? A little rounder than before, but still me, haha.

Something about the title No Defeat for the Sekiro animation feels a little strange to me. It almost sounds like the opposite of what FromSoftware’s games have always been about. Aren’t they all stories of falling, failing, dying, and getting back up again? Of struggling forward until a path finally appears? Without defeat, it doesn’t feel much like Sekiro. Just another animation. Still, it was a beautiful day today.

Lots of cottonwood fluff drifting around today. The wind kept gathering it into little puffs, like tiny snowballs racing across the ground. A summer version, somehow.ā„ļø Then again, if this were the Lands Between, it would probably be a trap. One of those giant snowballs suddenly rolling down from the mountaintop, haha.
