A browser setting as future of consent? I’m not convinced. #DigitalOmnibus could reduce cookie fatigue, but also risks weakening transparency, informed choice & meaningful user control. Simplification must deliver real benefits - not just fewer clicks.

I doubt that granting individual posts a content-based #PublicValue status will calm the online free speech debate - quite the opposite. Whether it actually strengthens #FreedomOfExpression is equally questionable. And yes, it also seems to pre-empt the ongoing #AVMSD review.

But industrial policy cannot compensate for fragmented markets, regulatory incoherence & structural inefficiencies forever. At some point, “strategic autonomy” becomes a very expensive workaround. More here ↓
