Thailand 🇹🇭 ☑️ An amazing first experience coaching 2 sisters in Chiang Mai this week. We pushed the kids to limits they didn’t think were possible / achievable. Now to head home & kick start our January school holiday programs to get off to a winning start in 2026.

The most common mistake from new drivers? ❌ Early Apex This is due to drivers vision being too close (short sighted) and with kids as young as 6 driving at speeds of 80kmh things happen FAST! 💨 So we need to coach / teach drivers to look further around the corners.

How to defend your position: When holding the inside line (dirty part of the circuit) brake earlier and “park” the kart on the apex. What does “park” the kart mean? Slow down more than normal to not allow the kart behind to undercut you on the exit and retake that position.

The BIG 1: SUPER SUNDAY To win on Super Sunday you need: ☑️ A fast kart at the backend of the race (double race distance over the heats) ☑️ Track Position - it’s hard to win from any further back than the top 10 ☑️ A risk it all mindset kartclass.com/blogs/news/how…

How hard to use the pedals? Aggressive inputs create instability. By slamming the brakes on, karts will lose control in the rear end. When drivers accelerate aggressively they increase the chances of oversteer & tyre degradation. Progressive inputs will give you control.

Wet Line vs Dry Line When it’s wet (on slick tyres), staying off the rubber is key 🔑 to gaining more grip / traction. So try avoid the rubber line where possible! In the dry, look for the (rubber), as this will act like glue for your tyres and give you more stability!

How to take an S-Bend So many drivers think about the first part of an ‘S’ but not the second part. This often leads to: A) A bad setup B) A bad exit Try plan ahead so you can position the kart in the right spot to exit fast.

Patience is Key 🔑 The left hand corner is “off- camber”, meaning the inside is the highest point & the track drops away to the outer edge of the circuit. This type of corner requires patience to decrease your chances of sliding & using excessive race track.

Which Apex are you driving? Early Apex 🔴 Late Apex 🟢 Newcomers tend to turn in early. This is due to not using the full track width on entry looking close to the front of their kart As you get more experience, drivers will widen the entry to a corner & take later apexes

Which apex point are you hitting? When drivers focus too close to the front of the kart, they tend to turn in early & apex too soon. The problem with that? This means the driver will be later to the throttle and lose momentum on the exit. Later apex = earlier to throttle

Why did this kart spin? First time driving in the rain 🌧️ is always challenging! If you drive the same lines as the dry, you’re likely to lose traction. From one lap (turning in on a tight line) to the next (wider entry & straighter exit) the results are remarkably different!

Absolutely agree with @DaveSera on deliberate 360 degree controlled spins being massive for confidence IF you've got the space for it. This is Oliver Meek on a day that was a real breakthrough in 2023, where he decided a 360 and still make the apex was the target.

What’s the purpose of learning how to do a 360? Kart control. The aim is to instil confidence. So as the kart begins to lose stability, the driver feels in control. It normally takes our drivers anywhere from 3-5 attempts to nail ** this is done with no other karts on track

Where to race in the USA 🇺🇸? Looking to jump into karting & don’t know where to race? Or you’re a club racer aiming to step to Regional or National level. The USA karting scene has stepped it up over the past decade and is now seen as a great alternative to European karting.

Where do you look when entering a corner? Your eyes drive the kart. It’s common for newcomers to be focusing too close to the front of their kart. Travelling at speeds in excess of 65mph (95kmh) they misjudge their entry as things are happening too quickly.
