The world has lost an icon. Fred Smith was one of a kind and will be dearly missed by everyone who was touched by his character, drive and tremendous influence. Although Fred was best known as a visionary for founding FedEx, most importantly he was a devoted family man and friend to all. I first met Fred when we were both on the ATA board after I founded JetBlue. The industry relied heavily on his clout in Washington due to his enormous credibility. I was in awe of all he could accomplish for our industry. In recent years we were neighbors and friends. On his many trips to Utah he would invite us over, he always asked if my wife Eva could come too. Our conversations were wide ranging from airplanes, to business, to politics, to families. My favorite part of our discussions were when he would talk about his heroic service in the US Marine Corps. He was a patriot who loved and served his county until his very last day. When we spoke recently, he said he was making another trip to Utah and wanted to get together. Sadly, our conversations have ended for now. God Speed Fred. I love and admire you more than words can ever say.

General conference is a great blessing.

Find new friends. I just left visiting my two youngest daughters, one with a 5 day old son and one with a 3 month old daughter. They are happier than I have ever seen them. Their joy was palpable.

The Apostles gave Jesus “a piece of a broiled fish, and some honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them” (Luke 24:42–43). •The Apostle Thomas felt the wounds in Jesus’ hands, feet, and side: “Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing” (John 20:27). •More than 500 people simultaneously saw the risen Lord in Galilee (see 1 Corinthians 15:6). •Paul stated he personally saw the resurrected Lord (see 1 Corinthians 15:8) and taught about the living Christ: “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:20). The Apostle Paul taught, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22). Because of Christ’s Atonement and Resurrection, all who have ever lived on this earth will also be resurrected to live forever as resurrected beings. The universal resurrection is certain, and it is literal. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is truly the most glorious event in history.
