Adaptive management & tech advancements can enhance sustainability without overly restricting fishing . By embracing these solutions, Orkney's fishing industry can thrive while ensuring the long-term health of the marine environment. #InnovationForSustainability

Time to constructively reset dialogue with coastal fishing communities.
We've sent 5,000 people to sayNOtoHPMA.com in the last three days. Let's get this retweeted and send some more! Highly Protected Marine Areas are a real threat to already fragile communities. Say NO to HPMA. @Skipinnish

More objections the better
If your version of environmental activism involves throwing entire communities under the bus "for the greater good", you might want to take a long hard look at yourself. (Or, as we'd say in Northern Ireland - "catch yourself on"). saynotohpma.com/

Oh really,so when Attenborough describes winter storms releasing nutrients,he's talking nonsense, how do you think re-seeding takes place? It's like the wind on land carrying them all over,in the sea its disturbance and tides, hence amazing growth and life in tidal eddies

#openseas would ban all trawling within our inshore waters, which would result in all fishermen converting to creel fishing ,sadly, this would result in a massive increase in whale entanglements, like the orca killed by creel rope, shown at the end of the programme.
