.@UHouston has heartbreakingly disbanded their LGBTQ Resource Center, a beacon of love & support for queer Coogs for over 13 years. Words can't express my rage towards legislation like SB 17, so instead I'll use them to express my love & appreciation for the staff of @UHLGBTQ.

Okay, so y'all know how Houston's getting 2 Pride parades this June? New Faces of Pride just hosted their first community meeting tonight and halfway through Q&A, the Houston Pride 365 president came forward and let me just say, I'm glad I recorded it all lol bc drama! *sung* 1/3

I was here to cover the meeting for Queer Voices (community radio, 90.1 FM KPFT) and recorded all 1 hour and 5 minutes of it (with the drama starting 15 minutes in and never stopped!!) There's a bit of backstory between these two orgs, but once you're caught up, it is a RIDE! 2/3

Dang, there really is no such thing as free... The T-Mobile salesperson lied to me and didn't tell me they're opening a 2nd phone line under my name. Anybody pay more than $35/month for their line and want to join my family plan? šŸ™ƒ

I'm such a bad gift giver. Went to a white elephant and put an unwrapped calculator box in the pile. Unsurprisingly, it was the 2nd to last item to get chosen. Inside was, yes, a calculator, but also a letter with 7 long math problems equating to a gift card number & infošŸ˜ˆ

*last official event for now! @UHLGBTQ Resource Center was years, if not decades in the making. However many more years/decades it takes to bring a dedicated queer-affirming space back to campus, so be it. There will be another LGBTQ Center at the University of Houston.

Official statement from @UHouston below. UH LGBTQ Resource Center is still operating! The signage was "premature," but queer Coogs are still holding their breath for news on the new "reconfiguration." I can only wonder how SB17's legislators are feeling about our grief & panic.
