unfortunately, i won't be getting my certificate today.
apparently they need to confirm some nonsense details first.
anyways, the day wasn't too stressful.
decided to close a few trades.
got stopped out on some, hit tp on others, but my wins still ended up bigger than my losses.
can't complain.

spent most of the day offline until i got my power bank charged up.
on the bright side, i heard my small boy's package safely reached lagos

i think a lot of people misunderstand how clipping works.
being put onto a clipping campaign doesn't guarantee you make money.
it's not like getting hired for a writing role, mod role, or other web3 jobs where the opportunity itself is often the reward.
clipping is closer to a commission-based sales job.
someone can show you the opportunity, but they can't get the results for you.
โก you still have to find clips.
โก edit them.
โก post consistently.
โก deal with low views.
โก handle rejected submissions.
โก figure out what works.
if i didn't get the views, i wouldn't have earned anything regardless of who put me on.
the funny thing is i'm about to do the same thing that was done for me.
i'll be sharing every clipping resource i know websites, discord servers, tools, everything.
then people can see for themselves:
being shown an opportunity and succeeding in it are two completely different things.
someone can put you on.
they can't get the views for you.

Exactly 23 days ago, agim, a mutual of mine on x, randomly sent me this:
"i gave your @ to someone that needed clippers, you got selected"
today, that info made me $1,085
the funny thing is, i never asked him for a job
a few days before that, i had only dm'd him to ask where people were finding web3 clipping opportunities, i was trying to learn, not job hunt
back then, i was broke (but still fly)
mentally, i wasn't in the best place either, i'd gone through some dark moments and dealt with suicidal thoughts at least twice this year.
Just came out of one, I'm insanely grateful to still be here with you all.
and being nigerian didn't exactly help my confidence.
most clipping campaigns favor tier 1 audiences, so i genuinely thought that would work against me
but somehow, the algorithm kept pushing some of my clips to the right people
the crazy part is that most of those clips never made me money
they were just sitting on my profile as proof that i could do the work
when the opportunity came, someone saw them and vouched for me
that's all it took
i can't believe i'm writing this long epistle ๐ญ
but damn, it's four figures, i can't act nonchalant and pretend that's nothing
appreciate you, agim โก
also, i'm quietly working on an article where i'll share the platforms, websites, communities, and resources that helped me find opportunities like this
no gatekeeping
just information i wish i had when i started
i'm also a pretty chill guy, i don't have all the answers and i'm definitely not a guru, but i have zero ego and i'm always down to connect with people who are building, learning, experimenting, and trying to figure things out

today was one of those days that reminded me why i keep pushing
sorted out a few irl issues
paid my brother's school fees and covered some of his expenses, too
can't lie.
i wish i had that kind of support when i was in uni ๐
but being able to do it for him now feels good
Also i can finally say I'm debt-free (aside from glo wey i dey owe)
also treated myself to dinner because even warriors need food ๐ญ
nothing crazy, just one of those quiet days that make you stop and appreciate how far you've come

had clips ready to post today.
didn't post any of them.
spent the day slowing down, touching grass, and enjoying life for a minute.
might reward myself with a small-boy purchase soon.
one thing that's becoming clear though: i need to improve my skill set.
not just writing.
i'm talking video editing, ugc videos, motion graphics... anything visual, really.
writing is still valuable, but it feels like the barrier to entry is lower now. almost everyone writes well.
these days, i'm trying to figure out what skill gives me the biggest edge.
maybe i'm overthinking it.
maybe i just need to take life one step at a time.
