Back in 2014, there was a South Park episode where Cartman dreams about Aunt Jemima telling him the food pyramid is upside down. He calls the USDA, they flip it (meats, fats, dairy at the big base, grains at the tiny top), and boom, everyone’s cured from obesity!
Well… today, RFK Jr. just announced the new official US dietary guidelines and it’s literally an upside-down food pyramid – proteins/meats, full-fat dairy, healthy fats, fruits & veggies at the wide top… whole grains and ultra-processed junk way down at the bottom. No more seed oils, ditch the processed crap, eat real food!!
South Park made predicted this 12 years ago!!! Trey and Matt are prophets. 😂
And before you go shitting on the new food pyramid just because it’s RFk, Jr…This is pretty much how I’ve been eating for years: heavy on the meat (I have a major meat tooth), full-fat dairy, no processed foods, no seed oils, light on the greens. I’ve read at least 100 books on nutrition (probably closer to 150 by now), so I feel like I actually know a little something about this stuff… and these new guidelines are so much better than the old garbage that made everyone sick
The only downside? In addition to my meat tooth, I have a massive sweet tooth 😩. This is my major vice in life!
