For the longest time, I had my podcast with Mike Atherton pinned on my profile, but after having built a diverse portfolio since, I think my pinned tweet needs to be a direct link to all of my relevant work within cricket media🏏 The pursuit continuesπŸŽ™οΈ linktr.ee/deafmango

Have basically assisted Vini here and I take full responsibility for this fuck up.
Morocco are all over Brazil at the moment and it's giving me immense joy.

Best goal of this World Cup thus far. Brahim's delivery was better than Saibari's chipped finish. Morocco with a statement here.

Damn Qatar drew!? I stopped watching at half time thinking Switzerland would surely score again, if not walk away with a 1-0 win. Delight for Bosnia and Canada as well, and the biggest result in the history of Qatari football.

"We are preparing for Paarl, Bulawayo, Namibia" to "We curated these decks to beat Australia because they prepare green tracks for us" to "We wanted to secure a top six spot in the ODI rankings because we thought that is the prerequisite to qualify directly for the World Cup" 🀦🏽

You curated dogshit surfaces to secure victory against an understrength Australian team in a meaningless bilateral ODI series. That is that. All efforts to spin this arc in any other direction will prove to be futile, because we are not stupid.

Who told the PCB that you have to play ODI World Cup qualifiers if your ranking drops below the top six? It is beyond flabbergasting how they are unaware of the rules.

The top eight ODI teams as per rankings will automatically qualify for the 2027 ODI World Cup, not top six. And this is excluding South Africa and Zimbabwe. If you're afraid of slipping below the top 10 effectively, then you deserve to play the qualifiers.
Aqib Javed said, "There are still 1.5 years left until the World Cup, but people forget that. In the last World Cup, Sri Lanka and the West Indies had to go through the qualifying round. It’s important to remain in the top six through your bilateral performances because if you slip, another team can play well and overtake you. Bilateral series determine where you stand. If, 1.5 years in advance, we start thinking about preparing to play in South Africa, then as this season ends and Sri Lanka arrives in October, that’s when it begins to make sense. By then, you should be in a position where you don’t have to fear dropping out of the top six. From October onward, the team should focus on that kind of preparation."

Dzeko's letter penned to the children of Bosnia is beautiful. Really hope he gets to have one last swansong at the top level. Bosnia will need his experience against Switzerland, in my opinion.

If Canada can beat Qatar in their next game, then surely in this new 48 team World Cup they'll have done enough to qualify for the knockouts. Manifesting 🍁🍁🍁

First ever points in the FIFA World Cup for hosts Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ They really should have won this game though, and need to be more clinical in front of goal. Anyway, we'll still take it baby!

What is the obsession with 10k Test runs? It doesn't define greatness as much as match factor or batting average. Sample size matters to a certain extent but it isn't the be all and end all.

Test batting behemoth, champion captain, and above all, the nicest guy you'll ever meet. And I say this after having both met and recording a podcast with Kane Williamson on two separate occasions. No air of superiority whatsoever, with humility at the very forefront.

Kane Williamson's legacy, beyond the mountain of runs, boils down to him becoming the first captain in the history of cricket to win the World Test Championship πŸ† He would have led New Zealand to two major ICC trophies had it not been for boundary count.
