Given that the cavalry don’t seem to be coming to rescue us, we thought we’d set up a Community #ClimateAction Centre in East Suffolk. Come & join us.

We love this: a fish pass with no metal, no concrete. Let’s hope @EssexSuffolkRT get their funding - would be great to see these on the Deben. @ProfPeteHobson
A brand new river! Still work to do, but after years of graft we’ve finally opened up this new channel, which will develop into pristine chalk stream habitat. Believe it or not, this is a man-made fish pass! #ChalkStream #RiverRestoration #FishPassage #WillTravelForGravel

Extra co2 from human activity traps heat and warms the planet resulting in huge Melting of ice and increased freshwater dilutes salt content of water and water becomes less dense inhibiting ability of AMOC ocean current to sink, slowing it down and eventually shutting it down
Replying to @ECOWARRIORSS
Explain how more C02 in the atmosphere slows oceanic currents.

We’d like to see this happening in Suffolk. New funding is apparently available, and it’s popular too. @EnvAgencyAnglia @DefraGovUK
Very encouraging. In Suffolk we have lots of landowners who could do this, and they wouldn’t have to sell their land to do it! #biodiversity@DefraGovUK⁩ ⁦@EastSuffolk⁩ ⁦@suffolkcc⁩ ⁦@GreenestCountytheguardian.com/environment/…

Results of our June Pollution Simultaneous Sampling Safari at 50 locations on the #Deben . As you’ll see, e.Coli and Phosphate levels are still very high along the length of the river. @Feargal_Sharkey @ChrisGPackham @jaowallace

This is germane to our current Winter Talks series, where we focus on Food Security. Farmers are key to our survival.
List of things I am happy to protest about as a farmer: 1. Goverment trade deals being deeply unfair - nothing should come in to this country that is produced beneath our production/welfare/eco standards

No problem with black grass, the bi-cropping & use of landrace wheats mean it can’t thrive. No artificial fertilisers or external inputs. Agroforestry bringing huge benefits, soil nutritious & holds moisture. The way ahead! Part of a series of talks put on by @DebenClimate

I guess this is exactly why @debenclimate exists.
Professor Kevin Anderson is addressing all of us in very clear words: »We are heading towards 3 to 4°C of warming across this century, an absolute climate catastrophe for all species incl our own. And all we are doing so far is giving rhetoric and optimism and greenwash.« 🧵1/8
