Something very interesting came to my attention at our recent
#townhall.
Every month, 55 lakh Indian consumers interact with the infrastructure we've built. And that scale has taught us something critical about India's payments landscape that macro statistics often miss.
We see
#merchants scaling brilliantly online, only to face entirely different infrastructure, and operational complexity when a customer walks into their physical store. The physical / POS QRs exist. The adoption is there. But the aggregation & unification? Still missing for early businesses trying to serve customers across channels.
Here's what these touch-points reveal: consumers don't think in terms of "online payments" versus "offline payments." They expect the same speed, security, and simplicity whether they're checking out on an app at midnight or scanning a QR at the counter the next morning. The highest value is solving for contextual commerce, where a company expanding into offline retail, or a neighbourhood store digitising operations, doesn't have to integrate with another payments provider.
Super happy to share that
@DecentroTech has now received the RBI authorisation for Payment Aggregator - Physical (PA-P) as well, building on our existing PA-Online license. This enables us to bring our compliance-driven and scalable infrastructure to offline transactions across the country as one unified payments solution.
The future of digital
#payments isn't about choosing or thinking between online and offline modes. It's about building systems intelligent enough to make that distinction irrelevant, for merchants and customers alike.
If you're building in commerce or payments and wrestling with these questions of omni-channel orchestration, we are just a note away - hello@decentro.tech
