This was so much fun! Hon is building the craziest science fiction brain chips But they aren't science fiction โ†’ he made them reality Watch the first 10 mins for a speed run of an out-of-band approach to AI compute Watch to the end & tour his brain-in-a-box / see Hon poke literal wetware neurons (And see a meat-sack-compute rack react!) --- You will not be disappoint. Amaze, amaze, amaze!

President Trump signed EO 14301 nearly a year ago today. Since then, 11 teams of engineers have been racing to achieve the President's goal: criticality in three advanced reactors outside of the national labs by July 4th. Grateful to be part of it as we enter the final inning!

Wrote an article this weekend in response to the AI documentary I won't watch (tl;dr - don't platform doomers, ever) Article driving gc discussion as I tighten it up, bumping into commentary on @benedictevans' latest deck* and @iamthezack's excellent pod with @EricJorgenson** My fave slides from that here w/discussion: #1 - this time is not different! #2 - we have barely started using AI

Valar: on track to first power ๐Ÿฆพ Will be scaling before you know it ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿ“ˆ Gigasites and gigawatts in their future A nuclear IPO went quite well last week - just wait until the world sees a company scaling and building and actually doing the things - far ahead of everyone else's plans --- Meanwhile I'm just burning tokens like they're free, believing in a future where Valar makes them much, much cheaper ๐Ÿ˜…
Today, the DOE accepted our Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) for the Ward250 Reactor. The DSA is our final design approval, demonstrating that we have satisfied the DOEโ€™s rigorous safety standards in engineering and construction. Next, Readiness Review and power before July 4.

Energy is civilizationโ€™s โ€œfix everything easilyโ€ switch. Lower the cost of energy to make everything better. Raise it to make everything worse. Working on flipping the switch, please stand by
China makes 99% of the worldโ€™s gallium because they make most of the worldโ€™s aluminum, and gallium is a byproduct of making aluminum from bauxite. This is a process that we invented in the United States, but it requires very cheap energy. Valar Atomics is working to fix this.

So proud of my team, and grateful for the leadership of the DOE and POTUS. This is not a normal DSA. Power is a different levelโ€”the volume and complexity of systems required when you have burnup is a massive step up. The Valar team is showing that they are up to the challenge.

Before Radical AI: a scientist spends weeks on a single hypothesis. One idea, one experiment, one result at a time. After Radical AI: an AI agent generates millions of novel materials in a day, filters them down to the best candidates, and sends them directly to a lab to be built and tested. No waiting. No manual handoffs. @josephfkrause at @DeepTechNY 2026, on what it looks like when material science finally runs in parallel.

When you are offered a ride on a rocket ship โ†’ you take it ๐Ÿš€ Relatively few VCs actually multiply capital / win the game / get DPI ... while @susannahshipton and @marshallporter get this job done and then some So, in Suse's words: "If you're obsessed with the craft of finding and investing in founders and companies who are building the future then this job is for you." If you haven't seen it yet - our deep tech team has a new podcast episode up digging into what is and what will be happening in space beyond launch ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธโœจ Thanks to AlleyCorp portfolio company @PortalSpaceSys's @JeffThornburg for joining the team for the inaugaral episode (and congratulations again to him and their team on their recently announced Series A round)
Welcome to The Long Frontier. A new podcast from @AlleyCorp where @JonesBrannon and @abemurray go deep on the technologies shaping the next 30 years of human civilization. One topic per episode. Real science. Real engineers. Episode 1 is live today. We're going to space baby ๐Ÿ‘‡

@abemurray and I launched a podcast โ€” @thelongfrontier . Deep tech. One topic per episode. Real depth, real science, real engineering tradeoffs. Episode 1 is live! All about the orbital economy and in-space propulsion. We sat down with @JeffThornburg Thornburg (CEO of @PortalSpaceSys , former @SpaceX Raptor architect) and walked through the physics of how we move things in space โ€” and why it's about to change dramatically. The space economy is ~$600B. There are 15-20K satellites up there. And most of them can barely maneuver. We've built the airports. We haven't built the roads. Follow along โ†’ @thelongfrontier

So excited to share the news of our $50M Series A. Maneuver continues to be the US space warfighter's number one technology gap, and we're developing the only propulsion and spacecraft innovation that meets the growing need for sustained mobility between LEO, MEO, GEO, and the expanding cislunar domain.

The SpaceX Mafia is taking over. Here's who's building.... - Impulse Space: in-space logistics - Varda Space: manufacturing in orbit - Hermeus: Mach 5 aircraft - K2 Space: low-cost large satellites - Castelion: hypersonic missiles - Radiant Nuclear: portable microreactors - Machina Labs: AI-driven manufacturing - Apex Space: satellite infrastructure - Ursa Major: next-gen propulsion We've seen this playbook before. The PayPal Mafia reshaped how we live online. This group is reshaping our future.
