The 🇺🇸United States has approved 🇧🇷Brazil’s request to purchase 100 FIM-92K Stinger Block I man-portable surface-to-air missiles for $330 million, strengthening the country’s short-range air defense capabilities. The Stinger system, in service since 1981, is renowned for its effectiveness against low-altitude aerial threats thanks to its infrared guidance system. This acquisition supports two key objectives: modernizing the armed forces of South America’s largest and most populous country to enhance surveillance of the Amazon rainforest airspace, and securing the airspace against anti-narcotics and counterterrorism operations as well as illicit trafficking.

🇲🇾Malaysia has signed a contract for 🇫🇷18 CAESAR 155 mm self-propelled howitzers from KNDS at Eurosatory 2026. The deal makes Malaysia the system's 15th customer worldwide and its third operator in Southeast Asia after Indonesia and Thailand. The Malaysian Army, which had never previously fielded a self-propelled artillery system despite several procurement attempts over the past decade. The CAESAR will provide a new mobile 155 mm fire support capability and represents a significant modernization of the country's artillery forces.

One takeaway from the 🇩🇪Berlin Air Show: small drones are no longer a niche capability. Alongside fighters, transport aircraft, and future combat air systems, discussions repeatedly focused on FPVs, loitering munitions, autonomous systems, and low-cost mass. From air defense to ISR and strike missions, lessons from Ukraine were visible across multiple programs and exhibits. Future airpower will not be shaped by advanced aircraft alone. It will also depend on the ability to field, adapt, and scale large numbers of autonomous systems.

📽️Undersea cables are more than telecommunications infrastructure. They are part of the hidden network that supports economies, governments, and military communications. Modern security increasingly depends on protecting what lies beneath the surface.

🇩🇰Denmark's F-35 program is now projected to cost $2.2 billion more than originally estimated, according to the national audit office. The increase is largely tied to long-term sustainment, maintenance, training, infrastructure, and support costs rather than aircraft procurement itself. Despite the higher costs, Denmark remains committed to the platform and is expanding its F-35 fleet. The lesson extends beyond the F-35. In modern air forces, the true cost of a fighter is often determined not at delivery, but over decades of operation.

🇨🇭Switzerland’s special forces are increasingly adopting LMT rifles, reflecting a broader trend among Western SOF units toward highly modular AR-platform weapons. The move highlights how ergonomics, customization, and interoperability are becoming as important as raw reliability in modern small arms selection.

A drone boat helped rescue the crew of a downed AH-64 Apache near the Strait of Hormuz. The autonomous surface vessel was used during the recovery operation after the helicopter went down at sea. While drone boats are typically associated with surveillance and maritime security missions, this operation demonstrated their potential role in personnel recovery and emergency response. The significance extends beyond a single rescue. Autonomous vessels are increasingly moving from supporting operations to directly executing critical missions at sea.

6/7. 🇪🇺Airbus has unveiled the U145, an autonomous version of its proven H145 helicopter designed for cargo and support missions. Rather than developing a new aircraft from scratch, Airbus is adapting an existing platform for uncrewed operations. Potential missions include cargo resupply, casualty evacuation, and logistics support in contested environments where sending crews may be too risky. The significance goes beyond the aircraft itself. Autonomy is beginning to move from the kill chain to the sustainment chain, transforming how forces are supplied and supported in future conflicts.

7/7. The 🇧🇪Belgian Navy's future mine warfare capability is putting autonomous systems to the test at sea. Trials aboard the new Oostende-class minehunter focused on integrating uncrewed surface vessels, autonomous underwater vehicles, and mine neutralization systems. The goal is to detect and eliminate mines while keeping sailors at a safe distance from the threat. The future minehunter may not hunt mines itself. Increasingly, its role will be to command the drones that do.

🇳🇴Kongsberg and 🇮🇹DRASS have formed a strategic partnership focused on underwater intelligence and autonomous systems. The collaboration combines Kongsberg's expertise in autonomous underwater vehicles, sensors, and seabed surveillance with DRASS's experience in special operations and underwater platforms. The goal is to develop new capabilities for infrastructure protection, ISR missions, and undersea operations. The announcement reflects a broader trend: the seabed is becoming a contested domain, and autonomous systems are increasingly central to how navies monitor and secure it.
