UNDERSTANDING ETH MEMES IN 10 MINS.
I’ve been sitting on my hands the past few days since the influx of volume on Ethereum. A lot was happening at once, and honestly, it felt like a whole different world.
You might be wondering why.
I’ve been trading ETH for over four years, and beyond just liking its structure and stability with memecoins, I’ve learned how to quickly spot narratives that are likely to do exceptionally well.
Everything shiny was sending , I expected that but, what I didn’t expect was seeing SOL narratives pump on ETH. That was unusual. Every time I told my SOL quants, “this won’t send on ETH,” it did anyway. So for a while, I started doubting my conviction and stepped back. Like I always say:
“If you don’t understand why you’re buying a token, don’t buy it.”
The run lasted a bit… then, suddenly, I started seeing my SOL friends again:
“ETH is dead.”
“ETH fun is over.”
“Let’s go back to SOL.”
Honestly, there’s nothing I wouldn’t pay to make sol pests non existent especially on the blockchain.
But it turns out, what was actually “dead” wasn’t ETH’s new volume — it was the SOL narratives on ETH.
So I was right in a way: you can’t trade ETH profitably like a SOL trader. If you want to keep playing here, you have to adjust.
SIMPLE GUIDELINES FOR TRADING ETH MEME COINS
1. Where to scout for plays:
• Dexscreener filters
• On-chain activity
• Alpha wallets
• Telegram bots or volume bots.

• Telegram channels
• Twitter
2. SECURITY & SAFETY
Necessary reviewing before committing your liquidity into a project.
• Top holders – always review distribution
• Clogged CA – make sure it’s minimal before aping
• Ownership renounced – dev shouldn’t be able to pull liquidity.
• Honeypots – tokens you can buy but can’t sell (scam)
• Bundles check.
• Delayed honeypots – looks safe at first, later becomes unsellable
• Liquidity locked or burnt 🔥
• The OG rule – Buying into the og narratives during PvP will keep you on the safer side than chasing CAs.
Tools like @HoneypotChatBot,
@SafeAnalyzerbot, @@IsClogged_bot, @MonstaScanBot, @findogtoken_bot are helpful for your security checks
3. NARRATIVES:
To be fair Eth traders are very picky unlike Solana with varieties of memes to play with. ETH memes are usually simple and precise. Over time, you’ll get better at spotting them.
• Animal narratives (especially dogs & cats, often tied to known accounts)
Political memes
• Mascots
• Beta plays / derivatives.
• Cabal plays and launched.
• Influential figures or popular account personalities (Matt Furie, Vitalik, Elon, Trump, etc.)
• Tech, stock, and news-driven narratives (especially those impacting crypto)
• Upcoming events and front running narratives.
