This is the garden Carolyn and I are growing this year. She wanted to plant flowers and herbs in my vegetables. Rather than argue about how many vegetables that would displace, I expanded the garden by building another terrace with stones I found on the farm.

I hope they shut down the Obama Presidential Center.
After years of controversy, rising costs, and concerns about displacement, I don’t believe this project has delivered what Chicago residents were promised.
The South Side deserves investment that directly benefits the people who live there not another political legacy project.
It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby — a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist — to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth.

As soon as those primaries were over, people’s true intentions became clear.
