HB 125, which would provide all students with free school meals, has not yet received a hearing in the House Education Committee. But HB 91 which was introduced after and would only cover children who are below 225% of the poverty line, is scheduled for a committee hearing today.

In the past year, the number of hungry children in our state has increased by more than 7,000. We need to stop playing politics around this issue and allow the full school meals bill to be heard.
