i think about this a lot. studios are scared of original IP, so there’s fewer major roles for non-white people. they focus on remakes, sequels, and adaptations of stories with white characters. and occasionally, critiques of whiteness, starring white people. there’s little left.

it makes me so sad seeing actors of color have that moment where you think they’re gonna be everywhere and in everything. but end up absolutely nowhere and that big role of theirs helped with absolutely nothing.
yeah they are probably more financially stable but are they seen?

“So I show him my idea of Somewhere Beautiful, which is performing in all these forests and at the pyramids and all these things. He goes, ‘You really want to go and set up in a forest? And do what?’ He’s like, ‘You’re going to bring a crew?’ He’s like, ‘Looks expensive.’ And I came back to the trailer, I was like, ‘Guys, we’re not performing in the forest anymore.
