The time has come. I’ve been teasing this for the last month, but now I can finally announce it. As you might know, my early days were as a COBOL programmer, and I was very good at it. Approximately 60% to 70% of the world's business transactions are processed in COBOL. I’ve been watching attempts to convert COBOL to another language since Y2K, and I realized this was the wrong way to go. The real answer was to bring the modern data stack to the legacy world. To that end, with the support of
@DeltaStreamInc , we are announcing COBOL Streamhouse. A native implementation of Apache Kafka and Apache Iceberg in the COBOL Language. Links to details and the GitHub are in the comments.
