Just done my radio interview on @CBCOttawa -talking with @alannealottawa about my upcoming Jane’s Walk called Manifest Discrepancy- the complicated history of US/Canada relations in Ottawa’s urban landscape.
Hey Americans. Cut the crap about Canada as "51st State". Here are some basic facts:
1) Canada as a whole is significantly larger than the USA;
2) Fully SEVEN of the top ten largest North American states or provinces are Canadian;
3) We're not bloody interested. Not ever.
Here, let me rewrite that for you:
“While we still have our differences on many important issues, we have also been able to achieve many good things together for Canadians. So I thank Mr. Trudeau for his years of service and wish him all the best for the future.”
There. Done.
So thrilled to ride the new OTrain Line 2 all the way from Bayview Station 36 minutes South to Limebank. New train sets are clean, spacious, and super quiet regional-rail style vehicles. Feels very… European. #otrain#OTrainLine2@OC_Transpo
Just imagine when major bike lanes are removed, and all these cyclists begin using traffic lanes—as they are fully entitled to do under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
Dare I say...this will cause traffic congestion on a whole new level. The Province hasn't thought this through.
A huge and passionate crowd gathered at Queen's Park to let @fordnation know that bicycle infrastructure saves lives and is a key part of *actually* addressing traffic congestion. More people biking = less people driving. #BikeTO#TOpoli#ONpoli
Fun fact - and a word of warning for travellers:
Under Ontario law, if you don't pay your hotel bill, the hotel may sell your horse to cover the debt.
