Only those that know Monty Python will find this rip-roaringly funny. I am literally rolling on the floor. In my good suit.

As GroK noted for me, the U.S. trade deficit in February 2025 included a trade in services surplus of $25.4 billion because since the tariffs inherent to the 1930 Smoot-Hawley Act, the US has shifted heavily to services from goods. @paulkrugman

Why are we focused mainly only on trade in goods? If this trade war was launched on the back of a balance of payments deficit in the United States, we must also look at trade in services. And in this way, we must ask why a trade deficit nation like the U.S. would do a trade war.

Worse still, a trade war with economies it knows will suffer miserably in an era when the world is more globalized than it was in 1930. A Quick Look at the U.S. economy over the past 30 years will show where America’s overall strength has gone: into services.

Watching President Trump dispense with two major canards: The Biden Presidency did NOT lose 100,000 manufacturing jobs in December 2024. The highest loss of manufacturing jobs was less than 87,000 in 2009. And the U.S. has, by far, the largest FDI of up to US$ 8 trillion by 2024.

I just found out (7 years and two months later) about Pete & Bas. As an old school hip hop fiend, these fellas are, perhaps, the best duo to hit the scene since OutKast. The lyrics in ‘Action Man’ are world-class and their equitable talent is undeniable in ‘TPain.’ Man …

My friend, Damian Grimes, is gone. But I shall forever cherish the knowledge that my wretched soul didn’t know its place until he flipped the switch. Farewell, my fellow wanderer; Be still, my endless optimist; Rest content, ye father of mine.

Bill Clinton had an important point last night — the penultimate night of the Democratic National Convention: Unlike his party, Donald Trump’s party was going to do anything and everything to acquire and stay in power. So, elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

Joe Biden’s voice is rich tonight — reaching the rafters and buoying everything it touches. On his way out, the 46th President of the United States has chosen to remind everyone that he is old and strong and that Donald Trump is just wrong.

After months and months of wringing my arms in despondency, I have finally decided to delete/destroy all my Will Smith movies, music, and Fresh Prince collection. I cannot and will not, in good conscience, condone violence. Goodbye Mr. Smith. Thank you for everything.

Hey @EGYPTAIR__ I have not forgotten that you promised that I would have my bag in 3 days (from last week). And guess what? I have been inspired to write an individual ‘goodbye’ message to each of the items you lost on my behalf. So, thank you helping me mourn properly.

Replying to @EGYPTAIR
@EGYPTAIR This is NOT fair. Why would it take you over 45 days to locate & return a piece of luggage that you tagged/tracked/promised to keep safe? I feel betrayed by an airline I CHOSE to fly. Now get back to me on this so I can mourn the loss of my luggage properly.

For the record, @EGYPTAIR you ‘misplaced’ by luggage in June; even after your agents ‘assured’ me that my bag was on my flight. I waited for the bag in a strange country for an extra week, had to buy new clothes and presentation materials. And you still didn’t deliver.
