Whilst I’m very sad to see @NickGibbUK step down as Schools Minister, I wish him the best of luck with his plans to join the diplomatic service. Nick has worked with school leaders and teachers to transform millions of children’s lives for the better. Thank you, Nick.

The rhetoric from the DfE is complete distrust of edu professionals. The message is we are somehow teaching subversive/dangerous content. Another drive for compulsory use of Oak? Some content, especially in core subjects, is purchased so we are allowed to break copyright?

This shows a complete lack of understanding of what we do here. A teacher would not have the relative experience to organise an office refit, funnel public money to trusts during academisation, secretly monitor teachers & remove the ability to strike. This is going in your file

Give us an education secretary that’s actually been a teacher in a state school relatively recently. An actual teacher that possibly went on to be a headteacher. Someone with a teaching degree. That’s a good basic starting point. Someone who has walked the walk.

If you ask school staff what the biggest three issues facing education are, you will get three completely different answers than if you ask the DFE or Gillian Keegan what they are. And therein lies the problem.

Without these hoops we run the risk of teachers being able to use initiative or pass on experience other than prescribed government doctorine. Under the new strike law we hope to outlaw non-hoop jumping. @NewbieSlt this outburst is going in your secret file

Hi all, Miss Johnson is leaving us after half term to take up a job as a circus acrobat. Apparently, she’s looking forward to having fewer hoops to jump through than the teachers at The Academy applying for UPS. Thanks x
