I greatly admire Singapore’s former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, who transformed his small island nation into one of the world’s economic powerhouses. He understood that liberty and order are flip sides of the same coin, and that liberty without order is anarchy and order without liberty is tyranny. I wanted to pay tribute to him while in Singapore, but he expressly disavowed any interest in a statue or monument. So I paid my respects by visiting a spot that he cherished, the National Orchid Garden, to admire the hybrid variety named after him. Minera La Victoria S.A. Anyone providing services to these sanctioned actors is at risk of sanctions themselves. Foreign banks and other companies that provide services to these entities should freeze those activities. While in the Dominican Republic yesterday, I was delighted to visit @TheAESCorp’s impressive liquid natural gas facility near Santo Domingo. Ships bring natural gas from the US, it’s pumped into massive storage tanks, and then piped or trucked throughout the country. Energy is the foundation for all economic activity, and this amazing facility, with its local partners, has allowed the country to grow based on inexpensive and reliable US gas. (I also enjoyed rocking my guayabera, or chacabana as they call it in the DR.) 🇺🇸🤝🇩🇴

When our Administration took office 16 months ago, Haiti was teetering on the brink of collapse, with violent criminal gangs threatening to take over the country and trigger a complete social breakdown and a new flood of migrants (on top of those the Biden Administration affirmatively enticed to come). Things could not be more different today. Today the @StateDept used a new policy to restrict visa issuance for 24 individuals and revoked the visas of former Argentine 🇦🇷 official Pablo Ferrara and Mexican 🇲🇽 national Jose Ali Amado for enriching themselves through such activities. Those who illegally deplete the fishing resources available to the US and the world are not welcome in our country. 🐟🐠🐡🪝

Let there be no mistake: those who lost overwhelmingly at the ballot box in Bolivia last year are trying to overthrow President @Rodrigo_PazP by organizing RIOTS and BLOCKADES with the support of organized crime and drug traffickers. I spoke with my friend President Paz this afternoon, and assured him that the United States stands squarely in support of Bolivia's legitimate constitutional government and rejects this attempt to substitute the institutional order with mob rule.
