While Iâm being told that the Bears announcement on Hammond is ârealâ,
i.e. not a leverage play, a league source told me that the Bears leaving the state is not a done deal. Per source, Indiana is in the lead right now, but âIllinois can still get back in the race,â granted the state has a lot of ground to make up after not passing legislation that would have insured the Bears property tax certainty.

1. Tigers are telling other teams: As of now, they're not selling. The sweep of the Rays will fuel their hope of climbing back into the AL race.
2. The Red Sox are signaling to other teams that not only are they looking to add a right-handed bat, but they're also willing to spend $ to do it.
3. Right now, there is very little relief help available. Clubs looking for bullpen additions say even the worst teams won't talk bullpen swaps... yet.
