An attempt to start a thread on #ShriPoonthanam. After getting a son after so many years, he had to deal with the grief on son's death even before the Annaprasanam ceremony could be over. He turned to Shri Guruvayoorappan

The annual anti-sun propaganda campaign is about to launch. Here is what you need to know. 1. The sun does not cause cancer. 2.All commercial sunscreen is toxic, including mineral formulations. 3. The sun is one of the most powerful healers available to us. Utilize it in the early morning or late afternoon daily for optimal health. 4. Exposing your eyes and skin to early morning sunlight resets your body's natural clock, known as the circadian rhythm, making it easier to fall asleep at night and wake up refreshed. 5. Ultraviolet rays trigger cholesterol in your skin to produce vitamin D, which is vital for calcium absorption and the maintenance of healthy bone density. 6. Controlled sun exposure is used clinically to manage chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and vitiligo. Do not engage with the false narrative surrounding the sun. As with much of mainstream health information, the scientific consensus on sun exposure has been inverted.

Kolluru mahatmya or kolapura mahatmya part of brahmanda purana is published in malayalam script and is available with many ancient families in kerala. Mookambika temples are found only in kerala and She is family deity of innumerous malayali families. x.com/i/status/2063881570109โ€ฆ

๐Ÿค”could it possibly come from Kollagiri of the MBT and other tantras, and was a pashchimamnaya kaula centre later becoming a nath centre and eventually assigned a shankarite myth? As I think is the case everywhere in that belt with 'shankara pacified the goddess here' myth.

In kollur, goddess herself is worshiped as durga as in chandii. Namboothiris predominantly dont use any tripura /lalitha worship in kerala. There are 100s of mookambika temples in kerala most give importance to sarasvathi bhavam while some cater to more ferocious nature.
Shankarite V1s prolly used their novel smarta advaita compliant standardized shrikula material to digest the kaula and subsequently natha shrines like Kollur in this konkan-tulu-kerala belt, signified by the "shankara installed a srichakra to pacify a fierce goddess" myth?

Never abandon your kuladevatฤโ€™s worship and ancestral temple. Visit it at least once a year {your family deity will usually have a dedicated tithi of visit in a year} and make sure you take care of the priest there all year round. โ€œIแนฃแนญa devatฤโ€ is a misunderstood concept.

Hey, wanted to ask something : Can kuldevi/devata and ishtadev/ishtadevi be different or are they same ? And is Kuldevi pujan still necessary even after guru diksha ?

Devaswoms never cared about communities, and stake holders of any temples... They only want to usurp the power of various communities and their rights in the thousands of temples of Kerala.

Expect all the communities to reach there and perform their 2000 year old rituals? Devaswom only cares about money, not about rituals.

The various govt officer run devaswom boards doesnt care a bit about the rituals in any temples. Last year for Guruvayur Ekadashi, udayasthamana pooja got cancelled and people had to fight till Supreme court to get it installed.

All thanks to influencer based marketing and reels making by various devaswom boards... They invite film people /celebreties to do influncer marketing.... Why temples should go back to all individual owners in villages...and not run by govt officers in devaswom.
Recently, temples in Kerala have increasingly been transformed into commercial establishments . They should preserve the sanctity and serene atmosphere that make them unique. Encourage commerce through regular businesses, not by turning places of worship into com establishments.

For last couple of years, across our family circles there has been a collective decision made that immediate family will not be forced to put patients(even parents) above 75 on ventilators. Everyone in extended families have supported this decision & ensured with proper counselling that no guilt factor stays on kith & kin if the patient dies eventually. Ventilators are a brutal way to punish the elderly in their last stage of lives. If they need to pass away, they should be going away naturally & on their own terms rather than artificially suffocate till their end..
In India, if an elderly patient is put on a ventilator and shows no signs of recovery, families face a very painful situation. You cannot ask the hospital to remove the ventilator. Due to legal rules on passive euthanasia, hospitals usually refuse. The only practical option is: Arrange your own ventilator at home, get the patient discharged, and take them home to spend their last days with family and dignity. This system puts huge emotional and financial pressure on families in their most difficult time. Truly heartbreaking.
