Dear Lagosians, Today, I stand before you deeply committed to the well-being and prosperity of our great state. Lagos has always been a beacon of hope and resilience, reflecting the brilliance and energy of our diverse cultures. For weeks, we’ve faced the prospect of protests aimed at ending what some call "bad government." While the intentions may be noble, some narratives suggesting it’s a means to change the government by non-constitutional means are troubling. Is a protest the catalyst for progress we need now? Will it ensure our challenges vanish in ten days? Will it lower food prices or inspire economic growth? I strongly believe it won’t. Instead, it could undo the modest gains we’ve made. Are there challenges? Yes. Is the government addressing them? Absolutely. Significant efforts are underway across many sectors to alleviate our people’s pain and pave the way to lasting prosperity. This week, President Tinubu signed a new minimum wage into law. Student loans are being disbursed to ease financial burdens, and local governments now have financial autonomy to enhance governance efficiency. The foreign exchange crisis is being creatively tackled. The sale of crude oil to local refineries in Naira will save $7.9 billion annually and strengthen our currency. The Presidential Initiative on CNG is also attracting private investments. We need patience for the benefits of these economic reforms to blossom. Protests can’t achieve in days what economic reforms can in weeks and months. Our nation, under President Tinubu’s courageous leadership, is on the right path. In Lagos, we launched EKOCARES to cushion the effects of economic reforms. From discount markets to reduced transport costs, and free medical care, we are committed to easing the burdens on our people. We’ve increased bursaries and scholarships for Lagos students, ensured free education for new elementary students, and our workers earn above the national minimum wage. We can do more, and we will. Reflecting on the tragic events of the EndSARS protest in 2020, it began peacefully but was later hijacked, resulting in immense destruction and loss. We will NOT allow history repeat itself. During the protests, we saw the destruction of valuable properties and institutions: Lagos High Court, 45 police stations, 12 Local Government offices, 7 Fire Stations, and the Forensic Centre, among others. The City Hall, Nigeria Ports Authority headquarters, and traditional rulers’ palaces were also destroyed. Malls, shops, offices, and hundreds of brand-new BRT buses were lost. Such devastation only sets us back economically and socially. Our goal is a peaceful and prosperous Lagos. We must avoid economic destabilization that can make us poorer. Let’s unite, embrace dialogue, and build a peaceful, prosperous Lagos. To ensure safe and peaceful expression, the Police have designated Gani Fawehinmi Park and Peace Park for protests. These locations will be secured to protect our citizens and prevent chaos. Let’s work together to build a Lagos that is safe, secure, and prosperous for all. Our strength lies in our unity, and our future depends on maintaining peace and stability. God bless Lagos State. God bless Nigeria.

When you teach about prayer, you inform us, but when you pray for us, you make us pray. A teaching ministry birthed in prayer carries with it the power of conviction not just information. One million series of teaching on prayer Can't do the work of a minute of prayer. Pray, please, pray.

A number years ago I stumbled on a preacher who blessed me in a significant way. As is the nature of men,we become very vocal about what is a blessing to us. I was excited and made sure I mentioned this particular preacher to every word addict I know. My bubble was burst by a few individuals who downplayed my excitement and also downplayed the ministry of this particular preacher. As a young man I valued their opinion and I thought they were sincere in their assessment of this preacher. My excitement was fading.....What happened? I allowed negativity to find a place in my heart and it made me change my opinion about someone who was genuinely a blessing to my journey. From time to time God will introduce you to individuals who speak a word in season into your life. Make sure that you drink from this well and at the same same time guard your heart against negativity. You know what you experienced, don't let people make your experience cheap with their negativity. Guard your experience. People sell themselves by shooting down another....Be cautious. Revd Brandon Bailey

Sing ,worship and act .. Just this morning as I led praise in songs during the Sunday service ,I led the song “ Forever you will be...,I humbly bow my knees to worship you “🎶🎶🎶 Suddenly opening my eyes I saw a few folks still on their feet ,I wondered if they didn’t understand the meaning of “ I bow my knees “ and had to instruct them to do likewise. In church we should all be in one accord .Many folks sing and not act . You sing “ I rejoice “ yet stay stiff on one spot ,at times with a frown ,” franking “ your face as we say in Nigeria. We sing “ I lift my voice “ with a whisper. “ I bow before you “ ,standing upright . The worst often is singing “ I lift / raise my hands “ with hands akimbo or prostrate or even worse still in our pockets . I recall a group of friends trying to exegete away Hebrews 13:15 ,saying it’s figurative . They sought to include 1Timithy 2:8 as not literal lifting of hands . That’s eisegesis . I wondered why and how they reached such a conclusion . Soon singing will be figurative, prayer and Gathering of Saints etc and eventually then God ! Acts 20:36 KJV [36] And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all. This is Paul demonstrating what he meant in Ephesians 3:14 KJV [14] For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Luke 24:50 KJV [50] And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. Just like Jesus did Luke 22:41 KJV And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Here Jesus demonstrated what had been done many times in the Old Testament. 1 Kings 8:22 KJV [22] And Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven: Psalm 28:2 KJV [2] Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle. Paul’s letters had such inclination too 1 Corinthians 14:25 KJV [25] And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. Another literal physical action here in worship . Acts 14:14 KJV [14] Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of , they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, They literally tore their clothes, choosing that God not they ought to be worshipped . Physical actions are part and parcel of Christian worship .It shows our submission to God.We lift our eyes John 17:1 KJV [1] These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: John 11:41 KJV [41] Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. Our hands 1 Timothy 2:8 KJV [8] I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. Raise our voices .. Acts 4:24 KJV [24] And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord... Even though the Father lived in him,he yet showed physical actions of obedience and submission. We rejoice ..Acts 5:41 KJV [41] And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. Just like Jesus..Luke 10:21 KJV [21] In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit... And the disciples upon his resurrection Luke 24:52-53 KJV [52] And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: [53] And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen. I recall a song “and with our hands lifted High.....when the world wonders why ,we'll just tell them we are loving our king “🎵🎵🎵🎵 We truly love our king .So next time in church meetings when the praise leader signifies ,”Let’s lift our hands ,bow our knees “...or it’s indicated in the congregational song Please be in one accord.

Where there is a relationship breakdown or break up.., things you shouldnt do.. Man is made for relationships, he won't amount to anything without healthy and productive relationships Yet man is never going to be perfect. This is a huge dilemma. Yet we want perfect men In our relationships Attimes when we get perfect moments, we want them forever. You can't always have those perfect moments With imperfect men. What we should work towards is perfect blend with imperfect men like us. We must expect disappointments. They will surely come. Forget what we all write about our friends, spouses etc.. At times it's calling the things that be not as though they were. Relationship breaks happen. A shouting match. Anger. Walk away. Break in communication. It never should be interpreted to mean It was never meant to be Some divorcees eventually learn endurance with the subsequent marriages. Some fleeing church parishioners eventually find out in their new haven why all churches are called one body, they wished they were patient and walked in love and honor earlier on. Hence, learn to leave the door of reconciliation open. Don't say things you would have to take back Don't talk to the wrong people, persons who and whom you already knew don't like him or have disagreements with him or her. Don't write any silly stuff on Facebook or social media, direct, indirect, implied or express. Such records linger longer than you think. Keep talking with the party or to God!!!!! Many of us, take the prayer path last After venting After making stupid statements etc I recall someone telling me why we couldn't get back together for so Long I was his pastor. We had disagreements over his life decisions. I was wrong too, at least now I know. But he knew me enough to trust my heart even if I was wrong. But, he told me he spoke with the wrong persons, who shared his views He said things and commitments before them. "I regret knowing this and that." "I can't go back any more" Words very hard and difficult to take back Except we are broken and contrite. It took over 10 years. Things usually get worse with time, when we say such things. Don't forget every relationship will have cause for disappointments. But don't speak in anger Don't talk to the world (they didn't bring you together). Don't join forces with people who are unfriendly to your friends. Many people usually envy (envied) relationships they applaud its breakdown Watch it. Attimes, if we all go back to the entry points of how each relationship started, we can start again and maintain the honor and love and commitment that birthed it. God is a reconciliation being. And none of us knows tomorrow enough to know who and whom you would never need!! Keep it simple. Make up Swallow your words which you said in anger and pride. Pray Walk in Love I pray for every fractured relationship. Supernatural ones too Going through turbulence. God's peace is yours. The world won't laugh at you. Your relationship Wins Amen January 23,2021

What to watch out for today in church Scriptures often alert us of tendencies within the local assembly Man is a product of influence,so you have no single copyright to any attitudes or beliefs you hold today 1 Corinthians 15:33-Don’t be deceived! “Evil companionships corrupt good morals.” Jesus gave a whole lot of “take heed “ to his disciples That’s very instructive Don’t overrate your ability to refuse influence. That said . Paul asked the church to be on the alert on doctrine meant to cause division within the local church . Romans 16:17Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who create divisions and obstacles contrary to the teaching that you learned. Avoid them, Avoid !!! He didn’t say try to help them ! Within the local church ,there are instructions to stay off . Keep to it . He says in 1 Corinthians 5:11- don’t even share a snack with such !!! This is God’s word You must be alerted and on the alert . Vitally , a brother or sister who flagrantly flouts instructions and cautionary measures He is different 2 Thessalonians 3:6-Now we command you, believers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by His authority, that you withdraw and keep away from every brother or sister who leads an undisciplined life and does not live in accordance with the tradition and teaching that you have received from us. Withdraw and Keep away That’s the leading of the Spirit He acts differently and chooses what and when to follow instructions He repeats it again Verse 14-Take note of those who do not obey what we say in this letter; have nothing to do with them, so that they may be ashamed. He says “Take note “! Have NOTHING to do with such . This isn’t to “de- Christian “ the fellow. Verse 15-Don’t think of them as enemies, but warn them as you would a brother or sister. It’s to correct the attitude . To not heed to those caution is to make such attitudes grow more within the assembly . So you have things to watch out for today . The brother / sister who is always late . Engages in gossip. Is a tale bearer in the church . Speaks Rudely about authority . Doesn’t comply with instructions . Refuses to be a worker or serve in any department after many years in church . He is loose in speech and conduct despite repeated warnings. The list goes on and on Dear Believer Watch out and avoid and stay away as instructed Have a great time in church today !
