The first of my life size collection.
Shaping a wing size of my fingernail set a whole new bunch of challenges.
Phew!.....held my breath the whole time.

This piece is now finished ,having had its internal frame lighting installed.
By day the aged pillar box red frame highlights the composition ,and by night the lighting drawing you into the frame.

Really pleased to be now making available the Devon Moth lighting.
Every lamp base I'll make will have a unique moth.

Finished the first collection of 2019.
All made from fallen timber within walking distance to the new workshop.

Daisy my workshop neighbour ,already learnt to watch my door , she knows that sometimes there's a carrot in it !
Early start today ,big diseased beech took damage last week and had to be felled.
some truly stunning moth wood .....fingers crossed

I've had great weekend in Yealmpton and Brixton foraging for moths.....like the huge elm tree stump ,the grain and decay amazing !
Beautiful spalted ash from the old forge ,cherry from Yealm bridge.
