Wanted to be the boss of all init systems, ended up as an office suite: systemd-resolved, systemd-oomd, systemd-logind, systemd-sysusers, systemd-homed and more mess in logs, tmp files, mounted volumes and soon boot loader! Egomaniac, or simply deaf?
PeppermintOS just announced PepDevuan! a build of their minimalist Xfce desktop distro granting init freedom to all users: sysvinit, openrc and runit available at install.
#XLibre 25.1 Series Feature Highlight
We added the #seatd support authored by #Devuan. It can serve as an alternative seat management solution in #systemd-free distributions. To learn more about seatd and its seat management library, please visit sr.ht/~kennylevinsen/seatd.

@DevuanOrg rocking in the art production pipeline.
This was a recent install but will be moving to #Xlibre as soon as I have some time available.
Standard cross-distro settings for color management, screen and pen calibration, multi-monitor setup. And, on the toolkits that support it, proper fractional scaling.
I even managed to get per-monitor scaling on my terminal (ST).
🇬🇧 This is taking forever, but I think it’s turning out pretty well. What do you guys think?
🇯🇵 気が遠くなるほど時間がかかっていますが、いい感じになってきた気がします!どうですか…?

@vendefoulwolf, a distribution that unites the experience of @debian (grandfather), the strength of @DevuanOrg (father), and the youthful energy (child). This is how the lessons of self-control, freedom, and privacy are forged. Creating and learning while looking to the future.
Devuan on the factory floor: a Raspberry Pi gateway in Barcelona, linked with 12 others across Europe for the LAUDS EU project.
Quietly doing the work in production: stable, lean, reliable, and free from unnecessary complexity.
It just runs.
Since 2014, we chose the hard path: NO systemd.
Good reasons for this keep coming. Now it harvests personal data like birthdates, unrelated to computing and ripe for abuse.
This is not a feature. It is a boundary.
We do not ship surveillance.

Rolling GNU/Linux distro done right: @Gentoo never imposed systemd and even built ways around it.
Arch chose the opposite path: tighter coupling, less choice, and recent censorship of @XLibreDev that raises eyebrows.
Groundbreaking OSINT investigation shows how three decisions by individuals with undisclosed financial interests permanently altered the identity infrastructure of every major GNU/Linux distribution running systemd
We'd like to dedicate today's #LiberatedScreens to @DevuanOrg & Co. After systemd recently merged infrastructure code for age verification and locked discussions afterward, some of you may want to consider init freedom. Please see devuan.org/os/init-freedom for your options. #XLibre

systemd lost the plot a long time ago. they stopped following the Unix philosophy and now they're busy adding nonsense like age verification. Just like Firefox, systemd doesn't understand its core user base. There are plenty of distros without systemd
