1/2 Well, I guess my home has become a wildlife waystation in the city. A couple weeks ago it was the sunk family:Momma, Alvin, & four siblings. A couple nights ago a young raccoon hung out on the patio for a couple hours & refused to be scared away.

2/2 Guessing he was curious about our huge young cat watching him. Tonight there was a 1” praying mantis that crawled on my hand while washing freshly picked basil. Now my husband informed me that a large opossum ate all our feral’s food this evening. On the patio, of course.

This pretty little girl came to us in Feb injured and starving. We fed her, took her to the vet for all the things, & gave her a safe place to rest.for the first 2 weeks, all she did was eat & sleep.

In March she was barely limping & recently has been celebrating Spring with the zoomies. She caught a mourning cloak butterfly yesterday & was disappointed when I made her let it go. This morning, she was finally able to repay us…by leaving a dead fledgling mockingbird by my husband’s patio chair. Yep…thanks…? 🥴

112 cookies baked, cooled, & [most of them😋] packed up for my husband to take to class. He teaches one class at a university - at dinner time - & his students are almost universally famished. Homemade cookies help them get through the 3 hours awake. 😁
