Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga is a moving and an important film made in today’s time. Not his best work yet, but a great attempt at making meaningful and relevant cinema.
The writing by Imtiaz and Nayanika is solid. The screenplay holds up throughout the film. 1/n

Vedang Raina proves yet again that he’s a damn good actor. He really made an impression on me in Jigra. Diljit Dosanjh is earnest as a typical Imtiaz Ali hero who’s lost and trying to find his true calling in life. Sharvari has a radiant presence on screen. 4/n

But for me, Dolly Ahaluwalia stood out in the film with ‘that’ scene. Gut wrenching. Imtiaz Ali 2.0 is a more mature filmmaker. His storytelling has become more personal, more relevant with Chamkila and I’m liking this new phase of his cinema. More power to him. 5/5
