Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation. You cannot control what happens to you in life, but you can always control what you will feel and do about what happens to you.

Gas finished last night and the kids were craving shawarma, I was too. Hubby said to go out to get it for all of us with drinks for dinner, I punched my calculator to see how much it will cost for a family of 5. I arrived at over 35k. 12kg gas now cost 24k, we would use it 4weeks at least. I chose gas over shawarma. That is for a family where both partners work and earn decently. We couldn't even afford a basic treat without punching the calculator. Everything extra is now considered luxury Now imagine the life of a child whose both parents are skilless, unemployed or earns meagerly. I know many of you will come and ask if shawarma is food, no it's not but everyone deserves a treat once in a while. We all know what we are doing but you people should fear Allah.

Nigeria's minimum wage is ₦70,000 a MONTH. The UK's minimum wage is £12.71 an HOUR. A British worker on minimum wage earns about £2,200 a month working full-time. That's roughly ₦4.7 million at current exchange rates. Meanwhile, a Nigerian worker earns ₦70,000 for the entire month. What's even more insulting is that some groceries are cheaper in the UK than in Nigeria. Milk, apples, potatoes and other basics often cost less there despite their workers earning hundreds of times more. We earn like ants and spend like elephants. The cruelty isn't just the poverty. It's that our leaders watch millions struggle to survive and act as if this is normal. Remi Tinubu thinks her husband is doing us a favour by building “coastal road” because “flight is expensive” I hate it here.

Do you know the most important thing you've missed in this video? It is not a man struggling and torturing himself to carry a plus-size woman through a contest. No. It is that this video is a visual representation of what happens when you, a man, carries more responsibility than the woman in a relationship. In this video The woman being carried is big enough and, by appearance, ought to have enough strength to overcome her visibly average-sized opponent. Yet, as we see, she loses the contest and exhausts the man carrying her in the process. Why? Because, considering it rarity,(as she's a plus size female who no man ever attempted carrying) being carried became more important and enjoyable than winning. The comfort of having someone else bear the burden can, if one is not careful, become an end in itself. The effort shifts from solving the problem to preserving the arrangement. This happens in real life too. When you take on too much of a woman's responsibilities, the result is often not gratitude or growth but dependency. You carry and grow weary, while she slowly forgets how to carry herself. Point is, if you do too much for her, be careful that your kindness does not become her substitute for effort. It often does. And the bigger implication is she grows comfortable, and you tired, and neither of you reaches the finish line. Goodluck. Or, congratulations.
Whoa! 😂😂
