Alright, so this scam runs much deeper.
As I mentioned in the post below, the same people running @BlockLayerPods are also behind @BeaconLayerPod. It's the exact same operation, just rebranded.
The handles of some of the fake accounts involved:
@SachiMiyasaki
@kenzimori
@DikshaWells
@punk3626
These accounts are all using VPNs, many of which appear to be routed through Germany (X displays VPN warnings), and they're connected to app stores across several different countries.
DO NOT get phished by these people. They're working hard to push these DMs out across the NFT community.
This is a full-scale phishing operation posing as a fake company supposedly based in "New York" that claims to run "podcasts" in an attempt to infect people's devices.
Nasty work.
🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨
Be very careful if these guys, @BlockLayerPods, reach out to you via DM asking to do a podcast.
It's a major phishing operation attempting to infect users with malware and gain access to wallets, accounts, and devices.
> They DM random people out of nowhere, claiming they want to interview them for their "big podcast."
> Once you reply, they build trust and eventually send links, Zoom calls, or files designed to install malware.
> The malware is used to drain wallets, steal credentials, or take control of your computer.
> They rebranded from an earlier scam called Web3Unchained, which reportedly stole over $100,000 using the exact same tactics.
> Most of their episodes appear to be fake. They steal audio clips, edit them together, and multiple "guests" have stated they were never actually on the show.
> Their website contains lorem ipsum placeholder text and suspicious job links.
> They also have backup accounts ready to go (such as @BeaconLayerPod).
> The entire operation appears to be run by a small group using bot accounts with NFT PFPs.
I've had a lot of people reach out asking if this is legitimate, and they are 100% a scam.
Stay far away, and please help spread the message. I'd hate to see more people get burned by this.
