The house of Dior is deeply saddened by the death of Bernadette Chirac. A remarkable woman, she was also a great friend of our House. In 1995, she chose to give Dior the opportunity of presenting Diana, Princess of Wales with a handbag as a gift. From this gesture, the iconic Lady Dior was born. An independent director of the LVMH Group board since 2010, she brought to the role clarity of judgement, experience and a spirit of autonomy, qualities that were greatly admired. A woman of conviction as well as discretion, her humility was matched only by her generosity, intelligence and kindness. We extend our sincerest condolences to her daughter Claude, her son Martin, and her entire family.
