This is a recipe for throwing thousands more people with mental illness and substance abuse problems onto the streets. it’s being cheered on by know-nothing dumb dumbs like Andrea Suarez and “Jake and Spike”
King County could lose $26 million after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) overhauled how it awards homelessness grants, shifting away from the Housing First model that previously accounted for up to 90% of federal funding. mynorthwest.com/kiro-opinion…

Don’t confuse Brandi with that woke (checks notes) basic criminal procedure.
This is getting so fucking out of hand and it’s because Brandi Kruse either cannot read what prosecutors said or she’s intentionally twisting it. Prosecutors aren’t pursuing because they cannot establish essential facts (that penetration occurred). And EVEN IF they could…

Even from a policing standpoint, this is dumb as hell. You don’t build human trafficking cases from a guy dressed like Rambo handing out pamphlets.
Has it ever occurred to anyone that sending armed men in ballistic vests isn’t the way to do “outreach” to sex workers? This is security theater meant to reassure residents, not achieve results.

Right-wing dark money group Change Washington is sending out text blasts encouraging its supporters (and apparently many non-supporters that they have added to their lists) to email Seattle officials and agitate about gun violence and street-based sex work on Aurora Avenue.

NEW: @SeattlePD, @FBISeattle, and social outreach teams surged Aurora Avenue yesterday afternoon, hours after @MayorofSeattle, @SeaCityAttorney, and @SeattleCouncil pledged to crack down on rampant prostitution. They are looking to get the women services and arrest pimps.

Super Troopers was a documentary
Pasadena Officer Shot by Fellow Officer During "Horseplay," Chief Says PASADENA, Calif. — The Pasadena Police Department has released a Critical Incident Video concerning an officer-involved shooting that occurred on September 7, 2025, inside the department's parking structure at 240 Ramona Street in Pasadena. The incident resulted in injuries to one Pasadena police officer, who has since recovered. Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris said the incident involved "unsafe, out-of-policy horseplay involving loaded firearms" between department personnel. Chief Harris stated that one officer was wounded as a result of the shooting and emphasized that the conduct depicted in the video did not reflect the department's standards or expectations. The injured officer was transported for medical treatment and has since recovered from the injuries sustained during the incident. Pasadena police have not publicly identified the officers involved, and no members of the public were injured. The case remains under investigation and review by the Pasadena Police Department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Andrea Suarez isn’t an advocate for the homeless. She advocates homelessness. If Andrea gets her way, all housing for homeless people will be reduced to one five-person sober house in Yelm run by Christian fundamentalists.

Layoffs are never the market’s fault. It’s not the sociopath CEOs trying to squeeze out another dime of profit, either. It’s always “the government”

Separations have slowed relative to 2020-2023 but that doesn’t mean “retention” is good. Older officers, having just gotten two successive raises, are hanging around for longer, milking overtime to run up their pensions on the way out.
As the city prepares itself to host six 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, Seattle Police Department (SPD) Chief Shon Barnes revealed that the department is retaining its staff better than it has in years. mynorthwest.com/gee-and-ursu…
