It’s a different energy for a German public institution — not necessarily in sync with its counterparts — but Ndikung isn’t worried about that. “We want to build a different world,” he said. “We want to think of the world differently,” @nytimes nytimes.com/2023/09/04/arts/…

My editing attitude is to look at a piece of writing not as it is but as how it could be. I prefer to deal in potential, and I place ultimate value on what the rewritten piece could be. Writers need editors who deal in potential and will do the work. That’s how we get better.

Writing this @OpenCountryMag cover story on Wole Soyinka made me a sharper thinker and enriched my knowledge base. It is the hardest I’ve done, the most ambitious, and my last on a writer. It’s a deep look at the life of the greatest living writer. opencountrymag.com/wole-soyi…

The BBC looks back at the extraordinary length of President Paul Biya’s lifetime and rule, using major world events to illustrate just how long he has been on the global stage. The post highlights that Biya, now 92, has lived through and ruled during some of the most defining moments in modern history — from World War II, the Cold War, and the fall of the Berlin Wall, to the rise of the internet, Barack Obama’s election, and even the COVID-19 pandemic. Coming just after his contested and controversial eighth election victory in Cameroon’s October 2025 polls, the BBC’s retrospective piece paints a vivid timeline of how the world has evolved while Biya has remained a constant figure in Cameroonian politics for over four decades. #PaulBiya #CameroonElections #BBCNews #MMI #CameroonPolitics #AfricaNews
