Why aren't more people flagging Microstrategy/Saylor as a systemic Bitcoin risk? 3% ownership of total supply Winklewhatevers' 1% total ownership is essentially King-making, no? And if the King is forced to liquidate? Or wants to tip the scales on every electoral campaign?

I retreated from Bitcoin spaces b/c of toxic men like Dennis Porter singling me out as"enemy # 1" and the pervasive rape culture. Worse, alleged "progressive" Bitcoiners were silent/ complicit. I am glad Dennis is getting called out. I hope there's more accountability to come.

Bitcoin is insurance against Worst Case Scenarios. Uh, Dems, better buy some.

My port-mortem take on why Dems lost on the Bitcoin/crypto issue: They dismissed it altogether, letting the Right define it. D's left to build their brand posturing against it. Biden admin's hostility couldn't have saved Kamala in time, even if she had distanced herself from him.

I can confirm this is true. I'll be on as interim host until a permanent host can be found. Going forward, we'll be putting out an episode a month. Losing the only prominent left bitcoin podcast at this unique moment is just not fathomable. Thank you again, Trey, for doing your part, I'll do my best to live up to your work!
The show must go on. We’re thrilled to announce @jyn_urso will come on as interim host of The Progressive Bitcoiner. The pod will live on as the first pod under the Rebooting Money media umbrella. We can think of no one better to carry the touch forward 🧡

What a great way for idiots with too much money, foreign leaders, and oligarchs to circumvent campaign finance laws and buy favor with Trump.

Let's retire the "Bitcoin isn't political" refrain. Of course Bitcoin is political! It was created in the aftermath of a global economic crisis to provide a more stable, equitable, worldwide monetary system.

I told a new friend I was a Bitcoiner. Their immediate response was to ask me if I was a Trumper. This is a problem. Reasonable people do not want to be associated with Trump. (Especially queer people in Portland)

Bitcoin Twitter reached peak irony when calling @Dennis_Porter_ a Leftist Commie. Dude is the least liberal Portlander I know. But he is a pragmatic Bitcoin policy advocate: Don't alienate one of only two US political parties, and half the electorate, in an election season!

So much more Progressive momentum for Bitcoin in 2024. Still a lot of work ahead
In 2021, we saw the rise of progressives for Bitcoin speaking out. @Do82Nic was one such voice, and this message still rings true to this day: “What was hopefully made clear is that Bitcoin is not a niche “shadowy super coder” cyber world, as Senator Elizabeth Warren hopefully no longer believes. Nor is it a prominent threat to our planet. Bitcoin is humanity’s first opportunity to unify under a singular, global, peer-to-peer form of money. It cannot be debased. It is never closed for holidays. And it’s going to change the world.” bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/…

Someone posing as a @coinbase employee called me to say fraud had been detected on my account. They followed up with a fraudulent email address: help@coinbase.com. Best of all, I was told to "shut the f*** bi***" when I told the caller I suspected he was not from Coinbase.

Imagine the different reception Bitcoin advocates would get from Dem lawmakers if those advocates included more women, queer folks, and democratic voters.

Single Issue Voters have less leverage when advocating for Bitcoin among Dem lawmakers b/c the majority of constituencies Dems represent don't have the privilege of being single issue Bitcoin voters.

This is exactly why positioning Bitcoin as a partisan Bro project was a terrible idea.
Trump: Maybe we’ll pay off our $35 trillion debt by handing them a little crypto check, handing them a bitcoin

I don't think it's a good idea for Bitcoin to be so closely tied to opportunistic fascists and couch fuc*ers. But that's just me.

RNC platform is pro Bitcoin. Meanwhile, Biden lost his seed phrase years ago. @VP Kamala Harris played nice with fintech in CA. She'd be well positioned to yank some pro crypto voters back to the Party that includes bodily autonomy in its definition of Freedom.
