Received info of 2 staff assaults within the last 48 hours. One officer was physically assaulted and suffered numerous facial fractures on 11/10/21, at the Farmington Corr. Ctr. On Tue. 11/9/21 an officer was stabbed at the SE Corr. Ctr. The officer suffered superficial injuries.

We remember a incident just after the riot at Crossroads Correctional Center when a Kansas City state legislature tried to gain access to the institution and was denied. Plus another state statute violated. @crystal_quade

Corrections Officer and staff need to remember what these gentlemen did for the DOC. Both wanted a change in Corrections, one appointed the current Director who has dismantle the Dept. to its current status. The second one leads the fights against CO,s in court on lawsuits.

The same thing is happening in the @MoCorrections. A big raise in starting pay for Officers has occurred. The problem is when the new officers go through basic training and get there assignment, they resign. Maybe a change in leadership is needed.

Just heard on @Missourinet of job applications for @MoCorrections officers are up 38% due to the pay increase. The big question is how many of those applications will pass the background check? How many of the applicants will remain after basic training and assignment?

A car is on fire on I44 West right under the St. Louis arch.
No law enforcement on scene. Me and @DamonArnoldKMOV have been trying to call 911 for the last 10 minutes.
No one answered the calls. We’ve called several times. Car is FULLY engulfed now. @KMOV

ODOC is searching for a missing inmate. Gabriel Simon walked away from the minimum security unit of Lexington Correctional Center. Simon was serving 20 years for robbery 2nd degree w/a dangerous weapon. If you see Simon, call your local law enforcement agency immediately.

Received information that the situation is under control. No staff injuries. Have concerns when there is 2 disturbances in a 48 hour period in a segregation unit. What is causing the problems, staff shortages, inexperienced officers, mechanical problems, or leadership problems?
