OAS and CPP increases are based on the cost of living, usually about 2%. MP's raises are based on increases in the private sector. How many days did MP's work last year? 4.2% is a very big raise when you make $209,800 and every year the spread gets bigger.

Carney lowered income tax by a whopping 1%(actually only .5% in 2025) but in 2026 payroll taxes increase. It's impossible for working Canadians to get ahead.
