There are many posts about people's criteria on whether they follow someone on X.
Below is what I believe to be the most important.
- Do they demonstrate critical thinking skills? This can be seen in how they chain their thoughts together and arrive at THEIR conclusion.
- Do they have their ego under control? This can be seen if they refrain from emotional outbursts and resorting to labeling as a means of communication. They are open to being wrong. One's ego is the source of so much suffering.
- Do they say things with respect? The world can use a little more respect for our elders, for a uniform, and in general, respect for our fellow human. However, it is important to be reminded that respect is something that may be given initially but can be quickly taken by what one says and does.
- Do they have courage or the self-confidence to say what is perhaps not popular? This is a big one. In today's digital world, it is easy to be bullied in to silence. It takes a special person to speak out in such an environment.
So, what about you? What are your criteria? Please criticize mine as we can all stand to be less wrong and only through thoughtful, well-constructed, non-egotistical and respectful dialogue will this be achieved.

As suspected.
Anthropic has a serious leadership problem.
I’ve had a number of conversations with folks inside and outside government about the current situation with Anthropic, and here is what I believe to be true:
— As we know, Anthropic publicly released its Mythos class models earlier this week under the commercial name Fable.
— Fable is Mythos with guardrails. But if those guardrails fail, then you’ve exposed Mythos and its advanced cyber capabilities to people who shouldn’t have them. (Keep in mind that Anthropic itself widely promoted the idea that Mythos was a cyberweapon and needed to be regulated as such. They asked for government regulation of Mythos and championed the guardrails on Fable. If there is a vulnerability — big or small — it is Anthropic’s responsibility to patch.)
— A highly credible trusted partner of both Anthropic and the USG who was testing Fable came forward with a jailbreak of those guardrails. The Admin asked Dario to fix the jailbreak or de-deploy the model. Dario refused.
— In their blog post, Anthropic defended its decision by saying the jailbreak isn’t serious. That is not what the trusted partner and the USG believe; nor is that kind of minimizing language consistent with Anthropic’s brand as the AI safety company. It’s difficult to fathom how they could claim a jailbreak allowing operability of a cyber weapon could be defined as not “serious.”
— In the past, Anthropic has always said that safety must be top priority and taken super seriously. In this case, Anthropic prioritized the continued offering of the consumer model over safety.
— In reaction, the Admin issued the export control. The Admin did this reluctantly. It’s been very surprised that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to cooperate with a reasonable safety request (ie fixing the jailbreak issue). Anthropic’s reaction is very much at odds with their branding and ethos as a safe AI research community.
— The Admin’s hope now is that Anthropic remediates the safety issue, the export control is lifted, and Fable goes back into general release. The Admin wants all of this to happen as soon as possible. It is frankly bewildered that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to comply with safety requests that it previously said were its highest priority.
— Those trying to misdirect and tie this action to the prior DoW/Anthropic issues are wrong. The Admin values Anthropic’s technical capabilities and feels that this issue, while serious, should be easily resolved. The ball is in Anthropic’s court.

This moment goes by largely unnoticed by many.
For an on site worker like that to walk up to Elon and give words of encouragement with an embrace shows that the worker’s relationship is close enough to embrace him and that he has seen Elon struggle at moments mentally/emotionally.
This was not some dude in a suit in a board room but a guy out there doing the hard work.
It shows where Elon spends much of his time.
In the trenches.
That’s the CEO I want in companies I invest in. Hence why I’m all-in. $TSLA $SPCX
About 5 years ago, Elon was giving @Erdayastronaut a tour of the Starbase launchpad. A worker at the site walks up, hugs him, and says: “We’re going to make it.”
He’s probably a millionaire now.

In 2016 when Trump became president for his first term, CNN tried to make sense of their cognitive dissonance but laying out 24 reasons why he won in an article.
It is super interesting to read this list today.
1-5, 14, & 18 I thought was the most interesting as the Democratic party seemed to have directed their focus in these areas. They doubled down on 18.
1. Facebook was unable or unwilling to crack down on fake news.
2. Social media.
3. Low voter turnout.
4. Celebrity outlasts substance.
5. White women were more important than anyone thought.
6. White male resentment.
7. Russian hacking and fake news.
8. The Left and coastal elites shamed Trump supporters.
9. Rural Midwesterners don't get out of the house enough.
10. The Democratic Party establishment didn't push Bernie Sanders.
11. Reagan Democrats surged in Michigan and the Midwest.
12. The media focused too much on millennial voters, not enough on older white males.
13. Gary Johnson and Jill Stein took votes.
14. College-educated Americans are out of touch.
15. Political correctness set off a nasty backlash.
16. Trump listened to the American people.
17. Americans are biased against the ruling class in Washington DC.
18. Voters believed the system was corrupt.
19. Trump remembered "forgotten men, women" of America.
20. Democrats focused more on turning out supporters than on growing the base.
21. The Democratic National Committee selected the less competitive candidate.
22. Not because of racism. Voters just preferred Trump.
23. FBI Director Comey's announcements about Clinton's e-mails came just weeks before election day.
24. Clinton was a bad candidate.

Scientists have discovered a direct correlation between Elon Musk's net worth and the diagnosis of Elon Derangement Syndrome.
They are noticing that such cases of EDS occur with increasing severity and is most likely not curable. Common symptoms include not having ever built anything, believing everything the media tells you, unhappiness with one's self, forgetting that a lot of wealth was created for others, feelings of entitlement that one should just be able to take from someone else's hard work and sacrifices.
If you see one of these individuals, the CDC warns to stay away from them and DO NOT engage in conversation as it can trigger the end stage results of this dreaded disease.

Perseverance and self-confidence.
The 24 year journey that Elon and his team has taken SpaceX through is truly an amazing and inspiring story.
Even when Elon's hero Neil Armstrong did not believe in what SpaceX was doing, he saw it through anyway.
Never let others tell you what you can and cannot accomplish in life.
